When I woke up the sun peeked over the edges of the hills over the plains. My body was stiff and tired. Why? No clue. I swung my legs over the side of the bed. Pain flared to life in my left calf, more than anything I've felt before. I gripped the blankets and bit my tongue to keep from making a sound. Flames of pain licked and shot up and down her leg. Nothing appeared wrong with it. My vision blurred and she felt pressure surround my head and my ears and cheeks burned as it got dark. Don't pass out, that wouldn't be very helpful right now. What could have happened to cause this much pain? Burning behind her eyes from the pain made them water. Oh hell no, not crying! But it was too late I felt warm liquid flow from my eyes as I choked out small breaths. I breathed out my mouth and on my nose calming myself. Gypsy was still asleep. Good. Keep your leg still. Think why was this-.......her savvy!

'We don't know for sure but we can assume it has something to do with being able to fix or break things at will.'

The words echoed in her head, of course, she did this to herself. If her leg was broken she would have to wait for someone to wake up, or learn to control her savvy and fix it. She really hoped it wasn't the second one.

So she sat and waited. Watching the glow of the sun fill the room slowly. Great, first day with her savvy and she manages to screw it up. Or at least make it worse and scary, because she was, scared.

As I sat there I tried to focus on what was broken. Now she was no doctor but she doubted it was shattered or fractured. It was a clean break, across both bones. How does she know this? Good question, she just concentrated on her leg-bones. Leg-bones? They're called the Tibia and Fibula. She could almost see what it looked like. But it came in flashes and looked like an x-ray. Nothing else seemed to be damaged. Now, maybe now that she knows what happened, she could fix it? The image of it just snapping back in place and welding together made her nauseous. Maybe she could just wait for someone to wake up so she could go to a doctor. Yeah, let's do that. Just waiting was much harder than she anticipated.

The pain came in waves if she moved. Along with its own default throbbing. I shifted my pillows up and bunched up my blanket at the foot of my bed. I very carefully lifted my legs and spun them over the blankets so my leg could be elevated.  Pain shot up my leg. Burning. Biting my tongue and clenching my teeth and keeping my breathing steady, silent tears still flowing. I think that's supposed to help right? The only thing on my mind was the pain. How was I supposed to know for sure? Maybe you should have woken someone up by now? Probably.

I sat there in the condensed quiet. Too quiet, always too quiet. She grabbed her MP3 player. Some music should help. So now she was laying in bed with a broken leg, that is really painful, and some nice music as she shuffled through what was there already. Some were good some, not so much. I sat there making it her own and adding songs that just happened to pop in her head.

                    ~~~
She heard people outside the room shuffling, people are up. She couldn't stand just sitting here.
I sat up suddenly ignoring the pain as it flared stronger. Come on you need to fix it. I placed my hands on the sides of my calf and concentrated. Instead of seeing it broken I imagined the bones it one piece, nothing happened the pain was still there and her leg still broken. Okay, again focus you fixed the clock and that was by accident how hard can fixing your leg be on purpose. Probably hard cause learning to control your savvy has always been hard as I've heard.
I gripped my leg harder over the split bones, which wasn't very smart. It hurt, a lot. I sucked in a breath through clenched teeth. I focused on the bones fitting back together. Despite her well-rested self, my energy drained and my hands in contact with my skin burned hot for multiple seconds before the pain eased. I peeked my eyes open because I had squeezed them shut from pain. A small amount of sweat glistened my skin and my jaw aches but there was little to no pain coming from my calf. A couple of flashes of an x-ray-like picture of non-broken bones popped in my head. Relief flooded me, I did it, thank god. The only problem I was super dizzy and my head was clouded with exhaustion.
"Mavis? What happened?" Came the soft voice of my roommate Gypsy. I froze and turned to look at her nervously.
"Oh um, nothing just sort of fixed my leg that I may or may not have broken," I said super fast to avoid outraged worry from her part. Gypsy gaped at me. Shock, fear, and amazement all in one.
"Right, okay, so you just happened to- I mean like you-" She huffed a nervous laugh. "I mean that's great you learned to control you savvy to fix it but, why didn't you wake me up!" She said in a mix of so many tones she couldn't tell if she could answer safely.
"You were...asleep? That would be rude." I said cringing, She was definitely mad.
"You broke...you broke your leg, Mavis!" She said putting her hands to her temple and through her hair, obviously irritated. Obviously!  You're screwed. I sat there guiltily.
"I'm fine now," I mumbled. She let out a mocking and sarcastic sharp laugh.
"Can you stand up? There's no pain?" She said making sure to help me up anyway.
"Yeah, I got it," I said standing, the last of the pain washing away as I did so. She kept a strong hold of my arms for a little longer than she had to as she made sure I was okay. "Really I'm fine. Nothing to worry about or tell the others about." I said getting out of her grip and opening the door so I could properly clean up. She glared at me like I was crazy she would let it go. "It's like I never even subconsciously broke my leg," I said smiling at her.
"You did what!" A man's voice said outraged behind me. My shoulders dropped. Oh no. "And I'm guessing you fixed it?!?" He said confused but still concerned. "Gypsy?"
"She did." She confirmed.
"Gypsy!" I said upset she told on me.
"We should bring her to a doctor just in case." She said with a sly smile. I looked at her wide-eyed.
"Yes, of course. We will, please get dressed. Mavis, Gypsy we leave after breakfast." He stated 'matter-of-factly'. I glared at Gypsy who just smiled triumphantly.
