|| THIRD PERSON ||

after finally reaching the proper destination, time seemed to completely vanish.

jimin felt like he was stuck in a dimension of endless slow motion as his body trembled down the hallway. he rushed off to the room his boyfriend was resting in.

he didn't care about sprinting down a hospital lobby, his mind was racing too much. the rest of the boys followed behind the blonde at a reasonable pace.

sure, they were worried as well, but after hearing his condition was perfectly fine, they didn't feel the need to be as worried as the blonde.

its nothing personal to the youngest, of course. it just made sense that the boyfriend would be more on edge about the whole thing.

jimin took a deep breath before officially entering the room, everything silent and desolate.

feeling just at loss for words as the latter, nayeon quickly stood up to greet him, hugging the blonde to show her appreciation for his presence.

the two of them let small clouds of tears fill their eyes as they gathered along the sides of jungkook's peaceful body. their hearts shattered at the condition of his tattered skin.

lines of freshly opened wounds coated his forearms, making the poor raven look like he was a broken phone screen.

nayeon took a seat in the chair next to the youngest, letting her head fold down as she used a tissue to erase the makeup marks trailing down her cheeks.

jimin took it upon himself to sit beside the sleeping boy. he carefully ran a small hand through the fluffy dark hair lying every which way.

"thank you for being here for him.." jimin expressed his gratitude towards the ravenette. "im so relieved you were with him when this happened."

"me too," she whispered, reaching out to massage the resting boy's shoulder. "you have no idea how much he wanted you all day, im so glad he has someone like you. he never believed in himself but I had faith he'd find the right someone soon."

the blonde couldn't help but fluster at the statement, finding it so gentle and wholesome.

"I can't imagine how you're feeling..." jimin placed his hand over the older girl's, feeling as if they've somehow known each other their whole lives and could be comfortable in the other's presence. "first your boyfriend, now your brother, im so sorry.."

"I could care less about the other asshole.." the girl sniffed. she grinned upon the blonde taking jungkook's hand into his own, interlacing them. "im just glad he's gonna be okay. they said he should be able to leave in the next few days."

jimin sighed, weight seeming too've lifted.

"he told me a lot about you earlier, pretty much came out to me, I guess. I never thought my little brother could feel so passionately for someone. he's really fond of you, jimin."

the latter couldn't help but blush once again, rubbing his thumb along the raven's warm hand intertwined with his own.

"really? I didn't think he'd mention me that much." what's sad was that it was true. jimin didn't think jungkook was the type to be so expressive to people so easily like that. especially considering he's never really dated before.

despite how much of a sweetheart he still was, it didn't seem like something he'd do. turns out the latter really had changed a lot since their first encounter.

"are you kidding? you're everything to him now." she confirmed, never being so proud of the stubborn boy in her entire life. "he told me about all your dates so far, about how much he loved your eyes and smile. hell, his first words were: god yeonie, he's so beautiful."

just before jimin could initiate any more soft conversation, the rest of the group carefully filled the room, bowing to the two significants.

"we're so sorry..." namjoon graciously spoke, head tilting a full ninety degree angle.

"he still looks good for his condition," in attempt to lighten the sour atmosphere, hoseok pointed out something that was still surprisingly true.

all eyes fell the youngest, examining his peaceful state.

jimin couldn't help but lean forward, slowly reaching out to caress the boy's soft cheeks; a new heap of tears streaming down his cheeks.

"kook-ah.." he whispered, not even bothering to mind the amount of presence still surrounding the two of them. he had to get the guilt off his chest. "im so sorry, you didn't deserve any of this.."

nobody deserves being in the hospital, that's not what he's completely referring to.

"you did the right thing." the blonde lowered his voice, audible enough to hear, but quiet enough to wonder. "your sister needed you and id never want you to not go see her when she means so much to you. ill always understand when you have to be with her, or comfort her."

upon hearing the small confession, nayeon couldn't help but grin at the small boy, appreciating his words.

"you're a great brother, such a sweetheart, im glad you still have a good relationship with someone in your family."

and maybe even after that, she let her own subtle tears invade her eyes. she realized it meant jungkook opened up about their family issues, he really did feel a lot for jimin.

"I was vulnerable enough to assume the worst. I thought you left me.. I should've known better. you'd never hurt me." the small boy could barely breathe at this point. "you left your phone, your sweatshirt. you were coming back and I was insecure enough to think you went out to find better.."

jimin hated that he couldn't stop himself from doing this so often, hes a person with so much insecurity lingering around and such poor mental health that's it's nearly inevitable.

he's started believing that being someone with his kind of background fucked him up for good. he wishes that weren't the case. not with jungkook.

"you keep on proving me wrong. you're not the same person you were before. you're loving, caring and sweet.. you've done nothing but been there for me, you've protected me and saved me more times than I can count. im done doubting you, from here on out im gonna fight my inner self everyday to prove my trust in you." letting his thumb rub at the raven's resting cheek, jimin closed his eyes, letting sorrow take its course. "you're my jungkook. I keep hurting myself and I keep hurting you. I never wanted this to happen because of it.."

then, the boy leaned forward to press a chaste kiss to the latter's cheek, nuzzling into his neck. "please wake up my little bun, I need you with me."

and just like that,

the raven's big doe eyes started fluttering open, wrapping his arms around the pretty blonde boy sobbing into him.
