Pidge kissed my cheek as he passed to finish his machine. He had been working on it all day, while I read next to him. Occasionally, I'd look up and watch Pidge work for a minute or two. He was extremely concentrated in his work, making sure every detail was correct. I smiled as I watched him move. I didn't understand what exactly he was doing, but it was fascinating anyway.
When Pidge was done, he backed up admiring his machine. "Please work." He mumbled and pressed a button on the table next to him. The machine groaned and shook, coming to life. Pidge grinned and jumped up in excitement, but his enthusiasm died as he noticed it acting weird. It shook badly and then shut down with a loud hiss. He sighed and ran his hands through his hair. He glanced over at me, surprised to see me watching.
"Do you have any idea what I did wrong?" He asked. I shook my head. "You know I don't understand that stuff." I joked. Pidge chuckled. "Come here. Let me show you, handsome." I froze and smiled. I stood up, setting down my book.
"This should be interesting."
