The year was 2020. It was a brand new start for most people. The year had so much promise, until fast spreading illness spread quickly over the world.
Now, people locked themselves in their houses and cleared all the supermarket shelves of toilet paper; acting like the rolls of thin paper would save them. Schools and businesses closed from fear of the virus.
Thats what caused me to be sitting on my couch in a ball of depression and dysphoria.
It had been two weeks since I left the house. I was running low on food and things to do to keep busy. The house was clean from top to bottom. Any crafts I had, were done.
I groaned a threw my head back. T.v. was boring and online classes don't start for another week.
They had to give the professors time to make the classes.
I tilted my head to the side when I heard the heavy thud of groceries hitting the kitchen floor. Loki stood there, glancing over to smile at me. They had gone out to get food and supplies for the next two weeks, since they seemed immune to the mortal threatening illness.
Loki paused when he saw the shape I was in. Curled on thw couch, in dirty baggy clothes I hadn't changed in a couple days, food wrappers everywhere, and my short hair, I could tell, was a rats nest. Loki looked as if they wanted to giggle, but quickly set down the bags, making their way towards me.
"Everything alright, love?" They asked. Loki was male presenting today. Their masculine voice was smooth as silk. I sighed and shrugged. Loki knew the quarantine was getting to me.
I never was a social person. I prefered to stay in the house, but willingly staying is different than being FORCED to. I had tried to explain that to my father over the phone, but even he didn't get it.
Loki cuddled up next to me and gave a content sigh. "How about we cuddle a while, okay?" They were silent for a second. "It'd help." I slightly nodded and leaned my head on their shoulder.
Loki's hand came up and ran itself through my hair. "Everything will be okay. You knkw that right?" They whispered as the soothed me by rocking back a forth a little. I nodded and Loki chuckled. "I'll stay here to be sure of it."
