Sober (Klaus x ftm!reader)

Umbrella Academy
I sat down, staring at my boyfriend who was suffering. He had recently decided that he wanted to become sober because he was tired of seeing the effects it had on not only himself but everyone around him. I knew it was hard for him to stop, but he also knew how important it was.
After taling as much as I could, I stood up. "Do you need something? Water? Something to eat?" I asked, hoping to distract him. He glanced up at me. His body covered in sweat and a hard expression that told me he was holding back as much as he could to not go and down a few pills. He must've seen the worry in my eyes because he cracked a smile that tried to reassure me that he'd be okay.
"Yeah. A glass of water, please." He stated. I nodded and walked to the kitchen. Grabbing a glass from the cabinet, I filled it with cold water and stalked my way back to Klaus. He nodded a 'thank you' as he took it from me. I watched as he chugged the drink and slammed it on the table in from of him. He ran his hands over his face and glanced at me. "How about we make it an early night?" He suggested, hopeful for this day to be over. I grinned at him and nodded. "Of course."
We both went to our room and put on comfortable clothes. Slowly getting into bed, Klaus made sure that I was behind him, holding him. He had been having nightmares since he stopped using drugs. Being close seemed to help him a little. He tilted his head back and kissed my forehead and I returned the gesture. He stared at me and I stared at him. Memorizing his facial details. He smiled a little. "Y/n. Thank you." He whispered as if speaking loud would break everything. "For what?" I asked calmly, sleep already threatening to take over my mind and body. He moved closer. "Staying by me. Even though I'm the biggest disappointment in the world." He mumbled. I shook my head. "You're not a disappointment. You are my best friend and there's nothing I would change about you. If you were a bad or disappointing person, you wouldnt try so hard to better yourself for others." I stated. He sighed, but in a way that sounded like he was happy to hear that. Sleep swept over the two of us quick. That night, he didn't have a nightmare. He had the best nights rest he had in a long time.
Guess what I can add to my requests list! I just finished the Umbrella Academy and it's so good. I love Klaus, he is my favorite character. 👌
