Demo? I Think Yes.

A couple of days passed and I felt like my normal self again. I also felt like getting something done with my life, so, I contacted Rodney.

"Hello," he answered.

"Yes! Hello Rodney, this is Nicole!" "Ah, Nicole. I've been waiting for your call!" "Seriously?" "Very serious! Did you think about the demo deal?" "Indeed, which is why I'm calling." "What conclusion did we come to?" "Oh heck yes!" "Good! When can you begin?" "Whenever you have time." "How does tomorrow sound? Meet me at the same studio we met. At about 8. As of now, I need to make a few calls. So, text me the names of about seven songs so I can start the process." "Rodney, you don't even have to ask me twice. I owe you big time. This is an incredible honor." "You can thank me when you win your first grammy, kid," he said.

I laughed, "Alright. I'll let you go then." "Okay. Songs. Now. Please!" "Will do! Goodbye!" "Adiós," he says, as I hang up.

I begin thinking of the songs I wanted to cover. I sent him the song choices I finally came up with. I was proud. I called Geoffrey to tell him the great news. We agreed to meet there at the studio. I was excited.

The day had come. I woke up earlier than usual, got dressed and still an hour left to spare. I guess it was time for some morning coffee. Bad idea. Being nervous, plus caffeine. Yes, I was a little hyper by the end of the first cup.

I arrived at the studio. It weirdly felt like a second home this time. This should be great, right? I entered the specific room Rodney had texted me to meet him in. He was setting up a few things. "There she is!" "Good morning!" I tell him. "Back at you. Are you ready?" "I was born ready!" "That's what I like to hear," he said, amped and laughing as Geoffrey walks in with more coffee.

"Good morning guys! Who wants coffee?" "Oh, me! I do!" I say running toward the coffee. "Well, it's nice to see you love coffee more than me," he pouts. "No, Geo. Never!" I said hugging him and standing on my tiptoes to give him a kiss. "Thanks for the coffee, ba—" "No way! You two are a thing? Where have I been?" Rodney curiously questioned. Geo and I laughed. "That's debatable." I said sarcastically. Geoffrey smirked, "You know it, Rod." "Okay, let us clear this right now. No silly business, you love birds," We laughed again, "Yes sir!" I said nodding. Geoffrey smirked once more, "No promises, I mean just look at her," he said pointing to me, making me blush. Rodney looked my way, smiled and said, "Let's get to work! Royce, help her warm up that voice." "You've got it, boss."

After warming up, we got straight to work. In total, only four and a half of seven songs were completed due to Rodney having to fly out to New Jersey because of a family emergency. "We'll continue when I get back. I'll try flying out by tonight, kid. I'll call you if things happen to change." "Thank you, Rodney. I hope everything is okay." "Thanks, kid. I'll see you guys!" Since that was all sort of last minute, Geo and I spent whatever was left of the day together.
