The Umbrella

Chapter 1: Graduation

It was finally the end of high school, Marinette was jumping with joy. "Finally" she says "it's over, the drama, the tests, everything, over!" Adrian walks over to Marinette and Alya. "Hey Marinette, do you wanna come over. My father and I are celebrating with a feast. I've already invited some people and I was wondering if you wanted to come too..." He says shyly. Marinette launches a hug at Adrian. "Of course! I'll be there!" She announces proudly.

Marinette's POV:
Once she got home, she threw herself on her bed and let out a big happy sigh. "Oh tikki" she says. "I finally graduated high school, it's all over!" Tikki flies out from Marinette's purse. "Marinette..." Tikki begins with water in her eyes. Marinette looked at tikki confused. "Yes tikki?" Tikki sighs "I was ease dropping on your parents yesterday..." Marinette started "okay? And what were they talking about?" She asks. "W-well...they said that after you graduate... you're moving...to China" tikki says slowly beginning to cry. "WHAT?!" Marinette looked shocked. "Th-thats impossible! I c-cant move, I'm ladybug! What about Chat noir and Hawk moth! (They still don't know who they are or who hawkmoth is yet btw :3)" Marinette started freaking out. "Wait- when are we leaving?" Marinette thought. Just then her mom walked in the room. "Marinette honey, your dad and I have some news for you!" Her mom says with a friendly smile. "You don't say..." Marinette whispered. Her dad pops out behind. "We're moving to China!" He announces. "When are we leaving?" Marinette asks trying to look surprised. "Right now!" Her mother says."now pack your things, the plane leaves in an hour" with that said both parents disappear into the hallway. Marinette stands up and begins walking around dramatically. "Wh-what am I going to do? I can't Leave Paris, not yet! Whos going to be Ladybug while I'm gone?!" Tikki watches Marinette franticly. Marinette grabs the umbrella that Adrian gave her the first day at school. "What about Adrian..." She whispers to herself. Tikki flies over in front of Marinette. "Marinette you need to tell chat that your leaving and there will be another Ladybug assisting him...it's for the best" Marinette sits back down and sighs heavily. "Your right..." Tikki smiles. "TIKKI, SPOTS ON!!!"

Adrian's POV:
Adrian stares out the window of the car, looking at the Eiffel tower as his bodyguard drives slowly by it honking the horn at traffic. Plagg slowly pops out and watches Adrian sigh in disbelief. Then Ladybug appears out of nowhere, landing on the Eiffel tower. She sits down and looks down at the people who end up walking past. Waving "hello" at the kids and parents. "Ladybug?" Adrian whispers. He watches as ladybug takes out her yoyo and tries to make a call to Chat. "Uh I left something at the Eiffel tower, may I please run and get it real quick?" He asks his bodyguard who is still honking the horn. The bodyguard rolls his eyes and drives towards the tower. "Thanks!" Says Adrien as he hops out of the backseat and hides behind one of the legs of the tower. "PLAGG CLAWS OUT!!!" once Chat noir, he hops on the top of the tower without ladybug seeing him. "M'lady?" He says. Ladybug turns around, "oh, hey Chat, come sit I wanna talk to you about something..." Ladybug blushes slightly. Chat noir sits down next to ladybug. "Yeah?" He asks suspiciously. Ladybug sighs quietly. "Chat I think it's time we talk about our identities..." She says slowly and quietly. Chat noir becomes shocked! "What?! Identities?! Where did this come from?!" He thought. Ladybug looks away and begins. "Only because, I'm moving somewhere far away and I won't be able to be Ladybug anymore...so I figured if I was going to leave I would want to know who my partner was this whole time..." Chat noir looks at Ladybug, totally speechless. "Okay, so...when are you leaving?" He finally asks. "Right after this conversation ends" ladybug says chuckling a little. Chat noir, without warning, throws his arms around Ladybug and hugs her tightly. He begins tearing up a bit. "W-will I ever see you again?" He says. "N-no...you won't" she replies trying not to cry. Chat noir hugs her tighter. "NO, I DONT ACCEPT THAT!!!" he yells upset. "Shhhh, I don't ether...but it's life and my parents I don't think will change their mind..." Ladybug says. "Spots off..." Ladybug whispers and slowly detransforms. Chat noir closes his eyes tightly. "Chat...open your eyes" ladybug says tearing up too. "N-no...I won't!" Chat yells. Marinette begins to slip off the ledge of the tower. "Chat, CHAT! IM SLIPPING!" She yells tightly holding on to chat. Chat opens his eyes and grabs Marinette before she falls. "M-m-marinette" he says surprised. Marinette tries to smile while still dangling from the ledge of the Eiffel tower. Chat lifts Marinette back on, holding her steady so she doesn't fall again. "W-why didn't you tell me before?" Chat asks as tears run down his face. "I guess... because I was scared if you found out who I was I wouldn't be your...."lady" anymore..." Marinette replies looking at the ground. "Bugaboo, of course your still my lady! Why would you think that?" He says rubbing Marinette's back. "I assumed you loved ladybug...not Marinette... Marinette is clumsy and lame and stupid...she's worthless..." Marinette began crying. Chat hugged Marinette again. "No... Marinette is smart, beautiful, sweet kind..." Chat said with a smile. Marinette contagiously smiled back. "Plagg, claws in" Chat whispering as he started detransforming. They stopped hugging and Marinette's jaw dropped when she saw him. "What's wrong m'lady, cat got your tongue?" Marinette smiled. "I'm so shocked! The boy I sit behind has been sacrificing basically his life for me this whole time?!" Adrian shook his head. Marinette wiped his tears. "Wait, so your leaving to China? Are you like...gonna be gone forever?" Adrian asked trying not to sound upset. "Unfortunately, yes...today will be my last day." She said trying to smile, then that's when she realized...about the umbrella
