<Chosen>

I don't recall ever falling asleep but when I woke up I was handcuffed to the metal table. I was in one of those interrogation rooms you see on tv. The light burned my eyes and everything hurt.

Where was I?

Where's Sophia?

Are the others okay?

So many questions. The door opened and out came a man. He had the same green eyes as Jaeden and the same black hair so I could only fill in the blanks. "What's happening?" I uttered, making sure my voice was full of power and demand. The man chuckled as he sat on the chair.

"Where's Wyatt?" The man ignored my question. He leaned forward with his hands folded and placed in front of him.

I myself, did not know where Wyatt was but I do know where he escaped.

"I don't have to tell you shit." I spit. I leaned back to show he had no effect on me.

"Alright, Chosen," he looked into the see-through wall and nodded his head. He got up and opened the door. "Maybe you'll listen to him." My jaw dropped after seeing my father. My jaw clenched and I looked away.

I won't cave in. "Hello, son." He took over Mr. Lieberher's place. He betrayed me - his own son. I stared into his eyes and I could see regret. It was the look in his eyes that got me questioning him. He did this to me and was somehow able to look regretful about it. "You need to tell us where Wyatt is or else you'll get punished." His voice cracked at the last part.

"Why is Wyatt so important?" I question, hoping I'll get answers this time.

"Wyatt is special. He possesses something within him. It's not chemicals or DNA but reaction. He is capable of using a creation from a mad scientist. Son, he's the chosen one." He clarifies. I try to take it all in but he continues. "And Jaeden. Jaeden is the leader. This whole thing isn't about one person but a team. Jack is the keeper who will find it. And Jeremey is the warrior. The four of them together are indescribable and that's what we're afraid of."

"What about me? And Sophia? And Finn?" I interrogate.

I see him gulp and his eyes gloss over. "Count the stars and that's how much I love you." He stood up and walked out. I could've sworn I saw a tear escape from his eye.

That is what we used to stay to each other when I was younger. This couldn't be good.

A man pulled me up and out the door. On my way out I passed by Jaeden who wasn't struggling whatsoever. If anything, he had a smile on his face. He looked at me. "Fifteen. Eight. Thirty five." He uttered as we passed by. A man shoved his head down and he went into the room.

What did those numbers mean and why was he telling me?

Finally, I was shoved into a room. It was dark and bland. "What do you want to eat?" A man asked in a husky voice. They wouldn't ask me this. Unless...

"Why?" I trembled.

"Because it's your last meal."

<Jack>

I woke up in Finn's arms. I felt warm and never wanted to leave. I looked down at him sleeping peacefully. I played with his hair until his eyes fluttered open. He buried his head into my chest. "Good morning," he uttered. I smiled and kissed his forehead.

"Morning," I smiled. My leg was in pain. Throbbing, actually but I couldn't let him know, and, more or less, let it show.

The door bursted open and we split apart. Several guys entered and I recognized them as the guys who shot my leg. Fear took over me and I put myself in front of Finn. I felt Finn grab my arm.

The guys whispered and the moved towards Finn. One guy took me and the other Finn. "Finn!" I screamed. He looked afraid and he was clearly in pain from being lifted. He winced and cried. "Let him go!" I begged over and over and over again and my pleas were silenced by a man's hand being put over my mouth.

"Jack," It wasn't a loud scream or a plea. He sounded scared. He sounded like a little boy who was about to get a shot. He looked at me with scared eyes.

"Where are you taking him?!" But it was muffled by the hand. They started to shove Finn out of the room.

"I love you." He managed to say before they let him out. I bit whoever's hand was over my mouth.

"I'll find you!" I scream. "I love you too," this time it was quiet. They shoved me to the bed and I groaned in pain. They chained both of my hands and wheeled my bed to a room.

I couldn't see anything other than the ceiling. I was in too much pain to look down. But I didn't care about me or any of my pains. I cared about Finn. Was he okay? What are they doing with him?

I heard a door open and close and they were gone. "Jack?" A familiar voice questions. I looked up in fear. It all clicked.

"Jaeden, we need to get to Finn!" I scream. Jaeden stands up and sits on the edge of my bed. His hands were chained together. He gives me a questioning look but then smirks.

"Why?" He asks.

"They're going to kill him! They're going to kill Finn and Chosen and Sophia!" He screamed. He leaned closer to me as if we were being watched.

"I have a plan." He uttered. He pulled away with a confident smile but I was still very much confused. "Jack, I need the cure though." Was he talking about me being the keeper? Did he know?

"Did they tell you? Wyatt being the chosen one and-" But I was cut off.

"Me being the leader, Jeremey the warrior, and you the keeper. Yes, I know." He tells me. He crawls up to me on the bed and sits beside me, being mindful of my leg.

"I don't have the cure." I say in a 'duh' tone.

"Yes, you do." He argues.

"No," I argue once more.

"Jack, it's your blood." My jaw dropped. How? "What did you think keeper meant? More like container." He joked. I glared at him and he cleaned his throat. "If you think they're going to kill Finn, Sophia, and Chosen, you have no idea what they're going to do to you. All of us, we didn't see it before but we all have a connection. Mark Zanders has a group of friends. Six of them throughout his life. We're their descendants when our parents didn't test positively it had to be us, Jack." Finally, an answer.

"What's your plan?" I couldn't look him in the eye. Looking him in the eye is like excepting everything is actually happening.

"Well-"
