Yet another day. At least on Friday I go to that party and have the weekend with friends. I lift up my head from my pillow and right away I let it falls back down. I decided to roll right off it and crawl over to my dresser instead, and then stand up. I put on my black jeans, white t shirt,
and my gray sweater, then run downstairs for breakfast. Smelling French Toast, I fall into a chair and let Kayton plop my plate in front of me. He smiles as he sees my
wide eyes.
"One or two?" He asks laughing. I look at him and he takes two from the pan and puts them perfectly on the plate. My mouth starts watering so I stuff as much in my mouth as I can, but then I realize I have no serup on it. Not as bad as I thought it would be without it but still better with it. With Kayton laughing, he starts pouring syrup all over the two.
"Stop," I muffle out as I put out my hand just in case he can't understand me. He stops but looks at me. Oh no, he's thinking. A smile creeps along his face and quickly in one swift motion, he dips his finger in the syrup and boops my nose.
"I wove you," he suckers.
"Oh you're going to get it!" I laugh. I shovel some more French Toast into my mouth then tackle him. He grabs my legs so I don't fall off his back and he starts running around the house. We both die of laughter as he jumps up onto the couch.
"Do you wanna walk to school today?" Kayton asks as we jump up and off the couch. I felt so free and like every problem has been taken away from me as the fake wind makes my hair rise and crash down on my face.
"Of course!" My excitement escapes. He puts me down, grabs my wrist, and pulls me outside. "I don't have shoes on!" I yell.
"Yes you do," he laughs. I look down and see the boots I've been in love with since I saw them.
"When did I get these?" I whisper to myself. Before I know it, we're in front of the school. Kayton smiles and waves as I walk away from him and into the school. Right away I'm greeted by Sofie, Genevieve, and Kayla.
"So Shade, I was thinking of taking you and me to the auditions so that I can make fun of you behind your back! What do you say?" Kayla asks like if she said nothing wrong. What the hell was she saying? What auditions? Make fun of me?
"Can I come?" Sofie asks playfully.
"Yo what are you doing? Why would you tell her?" Genevieve giggles. What the hell is going on?
"Guys, what are you talking about?" I ask getting really confused.
"Can't you tell that you don't fit in with us? Like you are so weird!" Genevieve demands.
"Your so not one of us. Your a freak!" Sofie admits with a sassy voice.
Courage builds up inside me, "Know what? I don't care. Do and think what you want but I'm out. See ya," I say walking away. That was so easy and it doesn't even bother me in the slightest. I like this new me. As I walk down the hall to my locker, two other people I can't really see end up walking on either side of me like if we were a group. I feel so happy and like if this was just a dream. A dream I will never, or want to ever, wake up from. Before I know it, I'm back home. A faint sensation appears on my right shoulder. I begin to rock back and forth, not in control of my body. I close my eyes tight and then open them sleepily in my dark room.
"Get your lazy ass out of bed," Kayton tells me. I smack him away and he slams the door behind him. I should have known. I should have known that couldn't have been real. I quickly get out of bed and open my blinds. I get dressed in the same clothes I did in my dream the hurry downstairs. The smell of pancakes linger in the air so I go to the kitchen. I'm not the biggest fan of pancakes but I will eat them. As I get to the kitchen, I see Katon stuffing his face with them. He looks up at me in between bites, "so what are you having for breakfast?"
"Get that smirk off your face," I reply. I grab my lunch from the fridge and walk out the door.
