The rest of the day, Jason seemed to make it his mission to spend as much time with me as possible. I didn't mind at all. He hasn't brought up anything about Genevieve or Sofie which I am grateful for. It's finally break so I checked my texts to make sure we're meeting where I think we are. As I look up from my phone, I see Jason walking towards me. We start walking around the school laughing right away. It was so hard to not burst out laughing in the middle of both classes this morning. It was perfect though. He grabs my hands smiling and pulls me down a hall. The change from light to no light made me worry. I look around and see locker 3790. I look away fast and let go of his hands.
"What's wrong? You okay? Did I do something?" He asks frantically.
"Yes, no, I mean no. I umm, I..." I start panicking even more. I have to get out. I have to. I have to. Shaking, I turn around and start walking towards the light of the other hall. I start blinking frantically as I see a guy standing there.
It can't be him.
I slowly start walking backwards wanting to hide but fight at the same time.
What is he doing here? Jason? Is he after Jason? What do I do?
"You remember me do ya?" Bryan says slowly. Letting me have each word sink in.
"Shadow, what's going on?" Jason asks. Tears well up in my eyes from the fear frantically spreading throughout my body but I blink them away fast.
You can't show weakness Shade. He can't do anything, he's in the school. Well that didn't stop him last time.
"Get the hell away from us," I warn.
"Oh darling, I'm just getting started. I do have to give it to ya though. Your a lot like your brother. Ha, you even have a stupid name too," Bryan continues. He starts walking towards us with a devilish smile. Crying inside, I put on a face showing no emotion. If he thinks I have a plan, he will say or do something to distract me off of it. He has a way with doing that.
"Get away from us," I say again but this time more sternly. He laughs and puts his hands on my shoulders. I freeze up and yell at myself to move but my brain keeps the message to itself.
"Maybe I was wrong. Your brother actually fought back. My girlfriend even said you knew a thing or two of self defence," he says dragging me over to the lockers. I feel the locking part of it gently touch my back.
MOVE!
"Who's your girlfriend?" I ask. Why did I ask that?
"Oh you know her. Starts with a G, most delicate and beautiful name, she's actually even at a party right now," his smile grows. Then he turns and punches Jason in the stomach. "Your boyfriend was getting too close. Last time I had my friends but I don't need them, especially with you," he explains then kicks Jason in the stomach twice.
MOVE SHADOW MOVE!
"Leave him out of this!"
"Aww you think you have some power in this situation of yours. Well guess what?" He pulls me towards him placing me the way he wants. "You don't," he starts pushing me towards the lockers as fast and as hard as he can.
MOVE!
I grab Bryan's arm and turn as I throw him into the locker instead. His eyes turn fierce and throws a punch. I didn't duck in time and fall backwards. As he starts coming towards me, I kick him in his chest pushing him away. He hits the lockers again and falls to the ground. If I don't do something, he will make me pay. I get up fast and see Jason doing the same thing. We both pin him down. I see my hands shaking and Jason must have noticed because he placed one of his on mine.
"What's going on?" An angry voice appears.
"Shade! No!" Comes Kayla's. Kayla runs over me and pulls me away from Jason and Bryan. Mr Drumbix comes over and Jason gets up. Drumbix helps Bryan to his feet. Bryan looks at me with the slightest smile so Drumbix wouldn't see, then starts pretending to be in so much pain and that he's dizzy. Drumbix helps him out of the hall and then I don't see them. Kayla tightens her grip on me as if she thought I would run after them.
"You two have some explanations to provide," Mr Kimble, the principal, says with his voice rising in volume. "You, as students, as a person, do not have the right to attack a teacher helper or anyone for that matter!"
"He came after us, cornered us," Jason defends us.
"Don't even say anything," Kayla whispers. She's right. I'll make it worse if I start. I can't just let Jason take the blow of our principal though.
"I do not believe that. Bryan is here to help you students be successful so you can graduate. He is trying to be a helpful person in our society. If anything, you two should try to be more like him!" Mr Kimble doesn't budge. When Bryan went to school here, everyone thought he was the perfect student, perfect person. Everyone but his victims.
"There's no possible way I will be anything like the monster he is," I start. Kayla tightens her grip and I know what she means.
"I will tell you this now. You are in big trouble, both of you, so I suggest getting your act together before your expelled too," Kimble warns. Jason looks at me like if he's asking me what to do. I look down and we both shut up. He walks us to the office, Kayla following behind.
