Akito is quiet and reserved. He tends to keep to himself but is always attentive, choosing to listen and observe what is happening around him rather than join in the conversation. He is incredibly strong, smart, agile, and often forgets he is much stronger than other vampires. He has a lot of personal demons, spending much of his later teengage years trying to come to terms with his past and build a life for himself. It is because of this unresolved personal pain that he has a hard time forming relationships and keeps most people at a distance. He is always striving to keep his Chakra under control, which means he has to master his own emotions to be able to fight. He feels he is constantly failing at this, despite becoming one of the most promising vampire assassins to ever be trained, his power beginning to rival even his own master's, The Vampire Stealth.
A Brief History:
Akito was born Edward James Rodrigueze, nicknamed Eddie. His father skipped out on his mom before Eddie was born, forcing his mom, Janine, to drop out of high school and take on odd jobs to support them after her family disowned her. Over the years, with her prospects for a better life growing dim, she took Eddie to New Orleans where she began working as a street whore to keep them fed.
Over the years, she turned to drugs and alcohol to dim the awful truth about her life and the way she was forced to live to keep her child fed. She began to resent him, feeling as if he was the reason her life had fallen into ruin.
After meeting Tony, things began to change. For the first few months Tony cared for them, making Eddie feel like maybe there was a chance for them to have a normal, stable home life for the first time. But as Janine's drug habits continued to drain the family's resources, she was forced to go back to turning tricks to keep food on the table. Tony quickly realized she could earn him more money than he could earn on his own, so he took over as her pimp, tricking her out to anyone and everyone who paid him enough coin.
As Eddie grew, Tony's sights turned to him, quickly realizing Eddie's young flesh could turn in a much better profit than Janine. Tony took to dressing Eddie in girl's clothes, forcing him to turn tricks for a tidy profit.
Eddie had hoped his mother would put a stop to all of it, but she was so far gone into her own addictions that she eagerly encouraged Eddie to participate, begging him to do whatever Tony asked, even when it came to Tony "training" Eddie in the sins of the flesh.
After several years of going through so much humiliation, Eddie finally snapped one day, packing his few meager belongings and leaving for Abyss City. Finding himself living on the streets, fifteen-year-old Eddie took to doing the only thing he knew would earn him enough money to keep food in his stomach - offering up his mouth to whatever pervert was willing to pay.
Late one night, weak with hunger and desperate, he found himself out side of vampire bar. Knowing he needed to make some money, he made the mistake of propositioning a couple of vampires, one who was more eager for the taste of his blood than the comforts of flesh. One of those vampires was the vampire assassin known as Stealth. Taking pity on Eddie, he took the young boy in, allowing him to clean the dojo and do other odd jobs in exchange for a bed to sleep in and food to eat.
Eddie eagerly agreed to this arrangement, watching his new benefactor teaching his pupils late into the evening. He asked Stealth to teach him as well, and it was during one of the training sessions that Eddie unlocked his ability to harness the energy of the living things around him, the life-force of the earth itself known as Chakra.
