Characteristics:
Joshua is very straight-forward. What you see with him is what you get. He has a no-nonsense type of attitude and always tells you just like it is. He does not believe in sugar-coating anything. He comes off as a bit stern, but once you get to know him you realize he is very kind-hearted and fiercely loyal to his clan and his friends. He will literally lay down his own life to protect those he loves. He is more than happy to help out any way that he can and does not expect any reciprocation. He is one of the very few people who does not have any type of hidden agenda. He is genuine in who he is and what he says. His word is his honor, and as such he will go above and beyond to maintain his promises.
A Brief History:
Little is known about Joshua's earlier life. Because lycans age so slowly, his exact age is unknown although it is believed he was born in the early 1900s. As a young man he joined the marines and stayed there for as many years as he could before people became suspicious of his ageless face. After his caravan was directly hit by a road-side bomb, he decided it would be best to leave the military for fear that people were becoming suspicious of his ability to go into combat and come out without so much as a cut.
Joshua found his way to Shadow Cove in the late 1980s where he purchased several hundred acres of land outside the city limits and began building what would eventually become the facility known around town as the Werewolf Compound.
A natural leader, the other werewolves of the surrounding area gravitated to him, and he was more than happy to help out and guide any and all who came to him for help. Over the years the compound grew as did his pack, soon boasting of more than five dozen natural-born and recently turned werewolves.
Marine trained, Joshua was happy to share all his knowledge with his fellow pack-mates, teaching them all about warfare tactics, the military, and weaponry. He taught them how to fight, how to handle a weapon, and basic military tactics.
Once the smaller packs began to be picked off by the Shield of Humanity, Joshua soon discovered other types of lycans showing up at his door seeking refuge. Unable to turn them away, Joshua and his pack opened their homes to the refugees, building his ranks up even more. Once he realized what was happening, he began training his most able-bodied pack members in earnest, effectively creating a small army, ready to fight if and when the time came.
