The Backstory

Hi. My name is Hallie. I'm thirteen years old and I live in an orphanage. The owner, Angel, is nothing like her name! Unless you count her being an angel from hell, because that is what she is. Me and my best friend Vanessa are always underfed and mistreated. We have hardly ever been outside, let alone done anything fun. When I was three, I was taken here by my aunt. Apparently my mum and dad had died in a car crash, and my aunt was too old to take care of me. You see, I have a special bond with Vanessa because we were both dropped off here the same day at the same age. I never really asked her about her parents. I don't want to be rude. After ten years, we are definitely ready to get out of here and go to good families, hopefully together. She's like a sister to me. I love her with all my heart. Here's the story of how our lives will take a twist for the better.
