Christmas night - part 1

I exhale and sigh
Fog escapes through my lips
Cold air replaces it
Down my throat, stomach, hips

I hold my breath
Like a shadow, fog fades away
Leaving the face of the earth
It faded away, I wanted it to stay

My hands are shivering
Pale, cold, frozen, shaken, dry
I forgot my mittens
I forgot to try

There she is
Under the Christmas tree
Lights dancing on her face
She smiles for me

But the tears are there
Stinging her green eyes
Clearer than glass
I see through her lies

She's always there
Telling me to fight and be strong
She got me through weight
That I carried for so long

She needs love
A rescue, a silver lining
She needs guidance
Behind the tears she's hiding

The night has come
It has spread its darkness everywhere
But the lights shine brighter
It's all brighter when she is here

Her deep hair
Her silky smooth skin
Her voice so soft
So strong, yet weak and thin

I am walking
Getting closer to her light
Step by step
Not letting her out of my sight
