"Hiccup?" Astrid called.
She peeked around the corner and saw Hiccup sitting. Toothless was doing his best to rally all the dragons. Hiccup watched and Astrid could see the tears in his eyes. She smiled and sat down next to him.
"Anything you wanna talk about?" Astrid offered.
Hiccup looked away. "No."
Astrid followed his gaze to Toothless and the Light Fury. She placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Hiccup, he won't be gone."
"I know," Hiccup sighed. "Thank you, for everything." He pulled Astrid in for a kiss.
Astrid's surprise was a muffled gasp and she smiled. "What was that for?"
"You being you." Hiccup said simply. "I feel like we've gotten closer through all of this."
Astrid smiled and stood up, pulling Hiccup up with her. She and Hiccup watched Toothless stand proud and let out a loud and commanding roar. All the dragons roared back, rallying at their Alpha's side.
"Now that's a king," Astrid said confidently. She grabbed Hiccup's hand gently.
He looked at her, then looked back at Toothless.
