030 | Maybe you're better with Gabby

Before I got the chance to react my phone was ringing, it was nick. I picked up and put my phone next to my ear as I said hello.

"Rey, you're not mad?" I heard Nicks voice and I felt really soft, he sounded really worried. My heart melted, he cares.

"I'm not!! Elle called me" I said to him and tried to hide the smile that appeared on my face.

"Ohh.. okay never mind then" he chuckled. I hung up on him and looked madly at elle again, what did she do.

I stood there in front of her with my arms crossed. Mike looked at me with a worried look on his face, I wasn't expecting this. Sure I told elle and Ashley about Mike and Layla. But I didn't really want them to eat involved in any of this. It was my job to do it.

I took another deep breath before I let any words out, i shook my head and looked at her again, was it actually Mike?

"Look, I know I was a jerk but I couldn't stop thinking about you" Mike stuttered out. He looked really tensely at the floor and not me. Mike tried to meet my eyes but failed after one second of eye contact.

"Yeah a jerk for just disappearing that morning, I was worried. I thought something happened" I closed my eyes to get a flashback from that morning when he left. I shook my head.

I shivered, when he left and never came back I actually thought that there was something wrong with me, that I wasn't enough for him. My heart was broken, I thought there was something wrong with me and he made me believe that for a year.

"Can we atleast be friends.. talk about it, let it heal by the time that passes" I sighed after he let the last words out. I thought about it for a while, him and I, as friends.

I walked towards him, ready to stand only a meter away from him, being so close to him that I haven't been in ages. I nodded and agreed to what he said. Let's give it a shot, I've got nothing to lose. Maybe he's right, that broken piece in my heart might heal someday.

"Fine" I smiled and reached my hand so he could shake it, but he opened his arms widely and hugged me really hard.

I put my hands on his arms as I looked at Elle really confused. A smile reached on my face and I was surprised to see that. Mike hasn't made me smile since the last time he said he loved me, the night before he left. He finally let me go and my eyes met his, I nodded one more time and waved at him and Elle to say goodbye.

I hopped in my car and drove. My phone was buzzing and I saw that Edwin was calling me.

"Rey!! Do you wanna come with us to the park, we're having a picnic, bring some friends" I smiled and nodded. I hung up on him and immediately called Ashley and Elle. They told me they were coming, I drove to the park after a few minutes and saw the boys plus gabby, Elle and Ashley. I ran towards them and hugged everyone.

"I'm starving" I sighed out and sat down while they were unboxing the food. Zion moved closer to me and I forced a smile out.

"So what are you up for my princess" I giggled.

"I want a sandwich" he nodded at me and snorted. He made a sandwich for me. The one with butter and some salad plus chicken. I took a big bite because I was so hungry and I liked it. My eyebrows furrowed as my eyes met Zion's eyes while nodding.

"This is good oh my god.." I yelled out, I don't know if it was because i was starving or if it was actually good.

"Shit calm down-"

"I miss you two together, I remember the first time you arrived after Zion lost you for a year. That man was so happy" Brandon said as I looked at Zion. His cheeks turned red. His hands touched my shoulder and I shivered, I looked into his eyes without saying anything.

When I met those beautiful brown eyes it all came back to me, of why I had left. It all replayed in my head. From the day when I met his eyes, when we both cried, I was still hurt. How we would argue, and when he lied to me. He even said that I was paranoid. Then a smile appeared on my face, remembering how me and Nick finally confessed. The butterflies that was trying to come out from that day.

I felt relaxed, by the thought of Nick, I'm so in love with him. My eyes met his and I smiled and he smiled back at me. He always, ALWAYS made me feel so much better. I wanted him to officially be mine, this was just too hard to handle.

After a few minutes of eating me, Nick, Gabby, Elle, Charlotte and Brandon were playing "taken". There was a taker (Brandon) and he was going to take one of us and the one who got taken is the one whos the next taker. We were all running everywhere dying of laughter. I know I said I'd be better without them, but I'm not sure anymore. I am happier with them. I focused on the negative stuff that happened when I was with them, not the positive things.

Brandon took Charlotte and Charlotte took Zion. I saw Zion running after me and I used all the energy in my body so I wouldn't be the next taker. I laughed really hard as I ran away, knowing that he was going to take me, and so he did.

"I HATE YOU" I screamed at Zion as he ran away laughing. My arms were crossed and I looked around to see who was the closest to me, Nick.

I ran so fast after him, he ran in a circle and I couldn't reach him. My feet were unsteady on the ground of how fast I ran. Nick stopped as I saw him trying to study the setting, where we were. I didn't get the chance to stop because I was running way too fast. My body crashed into his and I heard his moans of pain. My chest over his, we were staring at each other. I knew I was allowed to kiss him, just not in front of everybody. As much as I hated it I knew it was the only way, for me to be with him.

"HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" I heard Gabby's voice getting louder as she ran towards us pushing me away. She furrowed her thick light brown eyebrows and looked at like she wanted to kill me.

"I didn't do anything, I just accidentally fell over him" I sighed out. What's worse than knowing you can't have something you want? Especially when it's something you've wanted for way too long. My relationship with Nick isn't healthy, but it's worth it.

"Bitch" she whispered out, I chucked as I met her eyes. The fight was about to start.
