Elizabeth saw Nick's call and declined it until he sent her an sms

'We need to talk about your son. Reply or I'm coming over'

Elizabeth held her hand to her mouth. She hesitated then replied with an address and grabbed her keys.

"Alex, I'm going to the store!"

Elizabeth Walker drove off past the store and pulled in the parking lot of a diner. She ordered a milkshake and a few minutes later Nick stepped in and sat next to her.

"Milkshake?"

She pushed it towards him and he snorted then took a sip.

"Hope its not poisoned"

"I guess you'll find out soon enough"

Again he snorted.

"What do you want Nick?"

"Like I said, to talk about our son"

"You know I don't have a son"

He snorted.

"Fine. I just hope Derick will feel the same when I show him the DNA test results"

Nick got up, paid the waiter and left. Elizabeth stormed after him near his car.

"What do you want Nick?"

He pinned her against the car and twirled a lock of her hair in his fingers.

"This should be familiar" he said.

Her bottom lip quivered and he snorted.

"Yes, there it is." He confirmed "I know when you became a vampire the compelling wore off and you know Alex is not your daughter. You know you had a son"

She quivered.

"And I know who he is"

Her head shot up and her eyes widened.

"I found our son, Lizy"

She pushed him away like she pushed away the thoughts for the past few years.

"You are lying" she let out "Stay away from me"

"Or what?"

She hissed and he laughed.

"You don't scare me Lizy. You know where to find me if you want to know who he is"

Elizabeth drove off stopping at the store to grab something not to arouse suspicion. She grabbed berry juice and raw steak. In the cue she saw a baby boy being carried by his mother. He looked back at her and she had a brief vision of seeing her boy through a clear glass window in the maternity ward of a hospital. He lay so still next to a crying girl. Next to her was a young woman who looked extremely worried and nervous, not all like how young mother should look like. She remembered standing closer to her asking which one was hers. She pointed at the crying girl. Elizabeth proudly pointed at her baby boy.

The next moment the woman grabbed her shoulders and when she caught her stare she was locked in a trance as the woman recited the words that she, Elizabeth was having the crying girl and the boy was the woman's son. It came back in flashes after she was sired but she loved Alex all the same and decided to go on as if nothing happened.

The next morning Elizabeth looked through the window and saw Alex helping Isaac carry in his belongings into his father's house. She saw them kissing through the window and she wondered if her son would have turned out like him. Would he have been that kind and loving? Would he respected her the same way Alex did? Would he have loved her like she did? Would he have stayed with her or his father, Nick? She shook her head regretting all over again her affair with Nick Ezra.

She startled when the front door opened and turned to see Derick walk in. His eyes widened and he looked concerned

"What's wrong?"

She shook her head

"Nothing" she replied. How could she begin to tell him everything when all he did was love her? She loved him back. He was kind and generous not to mention handsome. He was the father her son should have had. At the hospital she was waiting to tell him he was having a boy since they opted to keep the sex of their baby a secret. They struggled to have children and the baby was nothing short of a miracle.

He approached and looked through the window at Alex and Isaac laughing outside the house. He smiled slightly.

"She's happy" he let out " And Isaac is a good kid despite what he went through with his abusive father and mother that abandoned him"

Elizabeth bit her lips and momentarily closed her eyes. Derick threw his arm around her and hugged her.

"Everything will alright" he consoled her and she still bit her lips.
