Manik sits on his chair focused on his laptop.

The door knocks and pooja comes inside.

"Sir, should I get the lunch here for you?",she asks him.

"No i am not hungry. Just hand me the files of khurana and kapoor.",manik asks her.

"Sir the files are not due for months now.",pooja replied.

Manik looked up from his files and glared at her.

"I know, can i get the file or i need your permission for it.",manik asked her sarcastically.

"Sorry",she whispered and moves to get the file for him.

Pooja keeps the file on the table slowly and walks out slowly.

"What's wrong?",Arjun asked from behind her.

She jumps a little scared and then nods in no.

"Sir is in his workaholic mood and i don't want him to get irritated and yell on me.",pooja said him.

"Ohh",arjun exclaims.

"Yes he is working on the files that are not due for months. I suggest not to deal with him today.",pooja said him.

"I think it will go for more than a day.",karan said walking closer to them.

"What do you mean?",pooja asks him.

"Nandini has gone on a trip.",arjun replies.

Pooja nods in understanding.

The door to manik office opens and they stared in fear.

"You know right that i can hear you guys from inside.",manik asked them folding his arms in the Front.

They looked down.

"It would be a great if you took your little gossiping party to somewhere else unless you guys want to join me for some work in your lunch time.",manik asked them.

"We will leave. Sorry.",Karan whispers and the other nodded.

"And you two, it has nothing to do with her. She wants to go and enjoy, she can. Its not like I can't live without her around for a while.",manik said annoyed.

Karan shared a smile with Arjun.

"What?",Manik asks frustrated.

"Did she not called after she reach?, but she messaged me that you didn't pick up.",karan said with a smirk and manik immediately look at his phone.

"So much for living without her for a while.",Arjun said and both laughed while pooja hides her smile.

Manik finds that they played him and glared at them.

"You two are staying after office hours and working with me.",Manik ordered.

Pooja lets out a small laugh at their reaction.

"You too pooja, now get lost.",manik said them and walks inside his office shutting the door.

He sits on his chair and leans back holding his phone up.

"Should i call her?",manik thought and then nods in no.

"What if she's busy with her friends and i disturbed her. They would think that i am being unreasonable and nosy but i want to know if she's alright.",manik said and put his head on the table with the phone

He grabbed his phone after a while and started typing a message.

"I will just text her to know if she's alright and ask what she is doing. Its not that i am missing her or something i am just worried and what if mom asked me about her. Yes i should text her.",manik convinced himself and started typing a message and then deleting it. He did it for a few times before his phone started ringing and he jumped a little making his phone fall and the call got disconnected.
