Chapter 27 In the Snow
There was only a couple days left until school had started back up again, which Evan hated. He hated all the subjects he has to take even though he's on his last semester of school. Nathan was only in third grade but he was excited to go to a new school. Evan wondered how his brother could be so excited for school when he isn't. He shook his head not wanting to think about school.
The start of the new year was alright. He kissed Tyler again when the New Year had struck but what surprised him was seeing Dially and Jonathan kiss. With a blush on their face they had admitted to going out with each other on New Years last year. Of course they were teased but Evan was overall happy for them. Jonathan had deserved something good in his life, and Dially was the perfect person for him.
Since Jonathan still had to work after New Years; Evan was left home alone with Nate. Of course he invited the guys over because they didn't have school either. So there they were sitting in the living room deciding on what they wanted to do for the rest of the day.
"I saw we play video games," Brock suggested as he held the Nintendo Brick in his hand.
"Fuck that all we ever play is MarioKart33 and it gets fucking old," Tyler said.
"That's because you suck," Craig said which earned him with a smack from a pillow.
"We could always play Monopoly," Brian said holding out a board.
"I don't feel like showing Nate how to play," Evan said as Nate was looking out the window.
"Monopoly sucks either way," Tyler said.
"Alright then Mr Cranky pants what do you wanna do then," Brian said tossing the board game to the side.
"We can play outside. The snow looks fresh," Nate said happily.
"But it's cooold," Tyler whined.
"Come on it'll be fun we can have an epic snowball fight," Evan said.
Everyone had agreed to it, even the grumbling Tyler. So they placed on their warmest clothes and went into the cold air. Nate took off heading towards a patch and started to roll a ball of snow. The guys decided to split into two teams. Tyler and Evan on one side, Brian and Brock on the other. Craig decided to sit this one out being a referee also to protect Nate's snowman as he built it.
Evan and Tyler first made a wall so they could have some cover to duck. Brock and Brian did the same thing. They next made enough snowballs to last them a while. Craig watched Nate as he made his small ball into a pretty decent size. Soon both teams had enough snowballs and the tension had risen.
"Alright you all get 5 hit points each. The first to lose all hit points loses. Simple," Craig stated.
"On your mark get set through," Craig said and immediately ducked as a ball flew right over him.
"Hey don't hit the referee," Craig called out.
The battle was intense, well as intense as throwing snowballs at each other gets. Evan and Tyler took turns throwing as both Brian and Brock threw theirs at the same time. When they had ran out they were all shivering to the bones.
"You guys managed to tie I don't even know how that happened," Craig said.
"Next time we'll win," Evan said through breathes.
"As if," Brian replied.
"I finished my snowman," Nate said as he placed the carrot on the face.
"Looks good buddy," Brock said making him smile wider.
"Do you guys want some cocoa," Jonathan said scaring them.
"What the fuck when did you get home," Tyler said.
"I've been home since 30 minutes ago. I decided to be kind enough to make some hot cocoa," Jonathan said as he held several mugs on a tray.
Everyone ended up coming inside and taking a cup. Evan looked out the window; fresh snow coming down from above.
Yes cheesy I know but hey it's my book ;) also it's a bit shorter then the rest but it still shows what I want
