"Cheryl are you ready for school?" Jason called to his sister. "Yes." Cheryl smiled as she walked out of her bedroom in the soft pink jumper that still smelt like Toni, black leggings, a plain white top and her brown boots.
"Let's go then." Jason winked as he opened the door for Cheryl. Jason was dressed in a grey sweater, a white collared shirt, jeans and black Nike Air's. Jason was allowed to dress less formal than Cheryl. Cheryl knew that Jason was the favorite child, Penelope and Clifford didn't even try to hide it. They'd always shower him with compliments, while Cheryl always got left unwashed.
"Hey, Cheryl, you're my twin, I know when something's up. What's bothering you, sis?" Jason asked his sister as he shoved his hands inside his jean pockets. "Oh Jason, there's this girl and she's so amazing! She just makes me feel... wanted. Special. One might even say... loved." Cheryl splurted out as they turned the corner. "And who's this lucky girl?" Jason smiled at his sister. "Toni Topaz." Cheryl muttered as she but her lip. "Who?" Jason asked in shock. "Toni Topaz." Cheryl repeated louder and clearer.
"But doesn't she bully you?" Jason asked confused.
"Well... she used to, but now she calls me babe, and beautiful, and princess and she always makes me feel... this way." Cheryl smiled as Jason held open the doors of Riverdale High for her."Well, as long as she makes you happy, I'm happy." Jason smiled as he looked for his friends, quickly spotting them. He then patted Cheryl on the shoulder before going to greet them.
"Blossom." A talk, black-haired boy yelled at Cheryl. Cheryl just backed into her locker. "Didn't Toni wear that jumper?" Another tall boy asked Cheryl as he joined in on their conversation. "Yeah, she did Fangs." The first boy laughed in realization.
"You break into her house and steal her clothes now?" Fangs laughed at Cheryl as Toni came striding down the corridor."Hey Toni! This nerd is wearing your jumper!" The first boy yelled. "Oh yeah, she is isn't she Pea." Toni smirked. 'You know it's my jumper!' Cheryl wanted to scream but nothing came out.
Toni lifted the sleeve to her nose. "Still smells like me too." She smirked as she dropped the sleeve, revealing Cheryl's wounds from last night. Cheryl knew that Toni had seen them because when she looked into the older girls eyes, they were filled with pain, anger, sadness and disappointment.
"Follow me." Toni ordered Cheryl as she pulled her into the closest girls toilets, locking the door as she did so. "Cheryl, what is this, baby?" Toni asked Cheryl softly as she looked at her wounds on both of her arms. "I got back late so I had sandpaper to deal with, I wanted to call you Toni, I really did! But my father took my phone away from me." Cheryl whimpered.
"Come here." Toni told Cheryl as she opened her arms for a hug. Cheryl happily took the warm embrace from the older girl and melted into her hold.
"Why are you so mean to me in front of them, but so nice to me when we're in private?" Cheryl sobbed against Toni's chest. "Because I like you Cheryl. As more than a friend. But if they knew that I wasn't... straight, then I'd get bullied, and then there'd by no physical or mental way for me to protect you." Toni told Cheryl hesitantly. "Really?" Cheryl asked Toni with wide eyes. "Yeah." Toni sighed as she rubbed the back of her head and looked at the floor.
"I like you too." Cheryl admitted.
"Well why don't we do something about it?" Toni asked Cheryl who was pushing her glasses further up her nose. "Because I'm scared that you'll reject me, or I'll scare you away... or something along the lines of that." Cheryl sighed sadly.
"And why would you think that?" Toni asked Cheryl.
"Because my parents said that I was loveless and deviant, and that only Jason would find love and that nobody could ever live a hideous monster like me, as I'd scare them away and annoy them to much." Cheryl smiled sadly at Toni.Toni kissed Cheryl's scratched arms gently. "Cheryl Blossom. Will you be my girlfriend? I promise to protect you, hold you, cherish you and love you." Toni asked Cheryl with love laced in every word.
"Yes!" Cheryl smiled elatedly as she pulled Toni in for a hug. "But..." Toni began.
"There's always a 'but...'." Cheryl sighed sadly.
"But we cant date in public, only in private, I'm sorry, but I'm just not ready." Toni sighed as she looked at the ground sadly. "That's ok baby." Cheryl smiled as she kissed Toni's cheek.Oh how bad her parents would punish her if they found out about that innocent kiss.
"I like that nickname." Toni smiled as she put her hands on Cheryl's waist and stepped closer to her girlfriend. "Oh do you now?" Cheryl smirked as Toni nodded her head against hers.
They stared at each others lips for a few seconds before they both leaned in.
It was magical. Truly, very magical. Their lips both worked together perfectly, like King William of Normandy and his army.
It may sound cliché, but Cheryl truly did experience fireworks as they kissed, and so did Toni.
When the pair finally pulled away for air, they couldn't stop giggling.
"I'll see you next period then baby girl?" Toni asked her girlfriend once they had both calmed down. "Of course you will babe." Cheryl laughed at the nickname. Toni then I locked the door and left the bathroom. Once again leaving a flustered Cheryl.
