Dorothy's pov.
It was six in the evening when I decided I wanted to visit Clinton. The day had passed too quickly for me but I was hoping the rest of the day would be rather productive.Getting to the infirmary, I greeted the guard stationed right outside the room with a smile. Familiarity flashes across his face as he looks at me, he then bows and motions for me to go in.
The room was just as I remember, except a jug filled to the brim with water sits untouched at the table beside the bed Clinton laid.
My eyes settles on Clinton and relief washes through me, every bruise he was spotting yesterday is all healed up. His face is just as I remember ; expressionless and handsome.
It happened too suddenly but I was sure I had seen his finger twitch, my eyes stay fixated, hoping something will happen again or at least something to just confirm what I had seen but nothing happened as a matter of fact, it looked like my eyes played a trick on me.
"You need to wake up soon Clinton so we can catch whoever did this too you" I intertwined our fingers and gave his a squeeze. With one final look, I left him to his room.
The pack Clinic sits just few miles away from the pack house. The walls all coated with a aged brown paint. If you weren't a member of the pack, you would have just crossed it off as a regular building. It doesn't draw any attention to itself. I guess they wanted it to be that way, I don't see why a clinic should draw unnecessary attention to itself. My old pack's clinic had this ridiculous sign that lit up at night, I guess they wanted it to look fun.
I began my journey back to the pack house, not that I had anything to do. Its just since I knew no one and the Luna ceremony was cut short, I didn't get to familiarize myself with anyone either.
The pack grounds were empty too, being it was dinner time already. I basked in the the silence, enjoying what the rest of the day had to offer. The sun was about to set, and the clouds are beginning to appear around it.A sense of dejà vu hits me. Because I've done this a lot of times in my old pack, but I was never alone. Most times I take walks with my mom, and other times with Mac. The pain in my chest becomes unbearable when I remembered how they all laid lifeless on the ground, tears welled up in my eyes.
Finally, I arrive at the pack house. The whole house was filled with chatter and laughter, I could hear their voices behind their happy smiles and it made me smile too. When I finally entered, I make my way to the kitchen, since Brandon already showed me the way before. I passed a few members on my way and they all bowed respectively, after all I'm their Luna.
"Luna Dorothy, hello" a woman I recognize spoke from a distance, this made all the other women in the kitchen look at me to acknowledge my presence. This were the same women that were in the kitchen the other day. They look familiar but I don't know their names.
I smiled warmly at their warm welcome, before walking forward and joining them. "what are we having for dinner". My eyes settled on the seven large salmon placed on the workspace.
"we are making fried rice and salmon Luna" the woman who was the first to greet me earlier said, she continued to chop some vegetables for the fried rice.
"what can I do to help? And please I would like to know your names" I said as sweetly as possible because I didn't want it to sound like a command.
The same woman who has been answering me since said, "you don't need to do anything Luna, we are all here because we want to serve you, the Alpha and the pack" she replied with a small smile. Her eyes held pride as she said those words. "and my name is Hanna, I'm the one in charge of activities within the kitchen" she added, I took my time studying her. She looks older than most people in the kitchen but one could tell that she had a mischievous side with the way her wrinkles formed anytime her eyes shine brighter.
As werewolves, we do age like humans do. We grow old, wrinkly and grey, our lips get pulled back from our teeth and we do die. There's no special features about us, we aren't overly beautiful like most people will think, that's why we blend in so well with humans. The only difference is that our senses are heightened, we turn into creatures od the night and we heal faster than an average human beings.
All other women introduced themselves to me and their ranks within the pack. Since I insisted that I was going to help, Hanna had me help with desert. By the time we were finally done, Hanna ushered me upstairs as more pack members filed into the dinning hall. She had told me she would get somebody to bring my meal upstairs since the Alpha wouldn't like it if I ate alone with a large number of male. I didn't understand what she meant but I just listened and went upstairs.
I haven't even seen Brandon all day, nor anyone familiar but I've been able to familiarize myself with a number of pack members which was a win compared to earlier when I didn't know anyone.
I entered the suite and walked to my room to change out of the clothes into something comfortable. when I stepped out of my room, a woman I met downstairs had brought my food in and settled it on the coffee table, I remember her name was Lola. I thanked her before she could leave in which she just smiled and made her way out.
I dig into the amazing food and my taste buds thanked me. The perfectly seasoned salmon was very flavourful, I couldn't help but finish the whole thing. Not to talk about the desert, which I know I didn't really do much, I only helped with putting the red velvet cake in the oven which was actually nothing. Its like everyone in the pack were professionals in the kitchen.
Since I was all alone, I turned on the tv and settled for a human movie titled 'Maleficent'. I don't know when I fell asleep but all I could remember is being lifted up and placed on a more plush surface. Unconsciously, I wiggled until I found the perfect position. Before I finally surrendered to slumber, I felt something on my head which made me snuggle deeper. My temple tingled till I wasn't conscious anymore.
