"Five, six, seven, eight and one, two" Maya counts as I do the steps for the group routine I was learning. "Straight feet Elli" I quickly correct my mistake and make sure I avoid doing it again. "Good" she compliments as she keeps watching me dance around the studio. "Make it look lighter" I bite my lip trying to to make my movements easy and light. "Better" she smiles. I finish my pirouette on my pointe shoe, getting ready to do a leap but the sound of the door opening causes me to stop and Maya to turn her attention away from me.

My eyes catches my father walking in with a smile making me roll my eyes. He always had great timing. Maya's face lights up and she walks over to him, letting him pull her against him as he leans down to leave a soft kiss on her lips. I scrunch my noise in disgust and turn to face them. "What are you doing here?" I asks curiously as I walk over to them. "I'm taking the both of you out to lunch" he explains making me sigh. "You could've come a bit later" I point out.

"Elli you've been rehearsing since 8 this morning, it's almost 1 already, you need to eat and take a break" he says matter of factly. "Okay" I breathe out, walking out of the studio to go change.

Ever since Maya and I agreed to dance on Broadway, which was about almost 2 months ago, life has been a little hectic. We had a month off because of all the holidays which means we've only been training for Broadway's next show for a month and we have about 3 months left to get ourselves ready for the big day.

I quickly get my pointe shoes off before taking my tights and Leo off. I slip into a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt before walking out of the changing room and to the reception where my parents are waiting. Luckily we got to rehearse in Maya's building which was great because I got to see all my friends and attend a few classes with them or even hang out.

"Ready?" Maya asks looking down at me with a smile. "Yup" I nod with a smile before existing the building with my parents following behind with their fingers intertwined.

"Elli" Maya laughs as I look down at my daughter giggling. I shake my head in amusement as I look at her with chopsticks in her mouth, pretending to be a walrus. "You're so silly" I chuckle as she finally takes the chopsticks out of her mouth. She sticks her tongue out at me and Maya giggles making me glare at her, she giggles even harder and I can't help but laugh.

"Do we have rehearsal tomorrow?" Elli asks looking at Maya as we calm down. She shakes her head "We have a day off" she explains. "Good, you can catch up on school work" I smirk making Elli roll her eyes.

Ever since we moved here to New York about 7 months ago Elli has been behind on her school work. With Maya's showcase and now Broadway Elli struggled to keep up with her work.
"Yay" she says sarcastically, " I'd rather be dancing" she murmurs. "Elli you know the rule" I sigh, "Yeah, yeah" She waves me off "No dancing if I don't do school" she says crossing her arms over her chest, "I know" she breathe out.

"It's just I don't have fun doing it alone" she admits.

"How about we get you a teacher?" Maya suggests making Elli's eyes widen, "Really?".

"If that's what's going to make you work better of course?" I smile.

"Sounds like a plan then" She smiles.

"Slower" I warn as I watch Elli do an arabesque. "Straighten that knee" I add making her correct her mistake. I glance at the other students doing pirouettes around her and my eyes instantly catches a girl with sloppy arms. "Stephanie your arms" I say causing her to immediately fix them, "Better" I compliment as I keep looking at the girls.
