Chapter 12: Are you mad?

"Calm down" Josh says softly taking my hand in his as he drives towards my parents house. "Everything's going to be fine" he assure me lifting my hand and kissing it, my heart flutters and I slowly relax. As nervous as I am it isn't good for the baby so I take a few deep breaths calming myself down. Everything's going to be fine. "Mama can you help me?" Elli asks catching my attention, I turn and find her struggling to put a bracelet on, "Of course baby" I take the bracelet from her hands and wrap it around her small wrist before tying it.

"Thank you" she grins "Do you think they'll like the presents?" She asks curiously as she glances at the two wrapped gifts next to her, "I sure hope they do" I sigh "I think they will" she excitedly making me smile. "Well let's see and find out" Josh says killing the engine. "We're here" I point out my eyes widening as I look at the building, "It's gonna be okay Maya" Josh chuckles, "Come on" he says opening his door and climbing out of the car. Lord please let this not be a disaster. I take a deep breath and open my door, climbing out  and walking towards Josh who's looking at Elli grab the gifts. "Ready?" She nods walking to me and taking my hands.

I open the front door with the key they gave me and we head to the third floor where my parents live. Josh knocks on the door, my heart picking up speed as he wraps his arm around my waist pulling me agasint him, "Breathe" he whispers kissing the top of my head right as the front door is being thrown open. "Elli" my mom gushes opening her arms as she bends down to greet the eight year old, "Grandma" Elli squeals hugging my mom as I smile looking at the both of them. "I can't believe your eight" My mom says pulling away to look at my daughter, "Happy late birthday" she adds kissing her cheek. Sadly my mom and dad were on a trip to Florida during Elli's birthday so they missed it. "Thank you" Elli says politely before her eye catches my dad, "Granpa!" She shouts running towards Shawn.

"Hey mom" I chuckle as my mom smiles widely, "Baby girl" she grins pulling me in a tight hug, "It's good to see you sweetheart" she says pulling away to look at me, "You too mama" I say before her eyes land on Josh. "Josh" she smiles as I move out of the way, "Mrs. Hunter" he says politely kissing her cheek and hugging her, "Oh, please call me Katie" she waves him off. He chuckles and nods, "Okay".

"Maya!" Shawn beams walking to me with Elli in his arms. "Dad" I grin hugging him, "Nice to see you Josh" my boyfriend smiles and nods, "You too".

"Come let's go eat" my mom says ushering us to the dinning room.

Dinner went smoothly my mom made my favourite meal and it felt nice to be back home. Most of what we talked about was Elli and how she's doing and how my teaching is going and if we're enjoying Broadway. After dinner we all moved to the living room where my parents handed out a few gifts to Elli. She got 3 pairs of new tights, new leotards, leggings, ballet themed sweatshirts and she also got a few games. "Can we play this when we get home?" She asks looking up at Josh hopefully "If we don't get home to late sure" he answers making her smile and do a little victory dance.

"What do we say?" He adds raising a brow at his daughter. "Thank you, thank you, thank you" she repeats standing up and tackling my parents in a big hug. "You're welcome honey" My mom chuckles, "We have some presents for you too" Elli admits as I bite my lip, here we go. Elli goes to my bag and pulls out the two wrapped boxes, my mom furrows her brows and glances at me with a confused expression and all I do is shrug. "Why do we get gifts?" Shawn asks confused looking down at the box in his hand, "Because you deserve it" Elli laughs "Open it" she says impatiently. They both glance at each other before slowly opening the box, Josh's grip on my waist tightens and my heart speeds up.

They both pull out mugs and I wait for them to say something, "Best Grandpa in the world" Shawn's reads, "That's so sweet Elli, you're the best granddaughter in the world" my mom says but Elli shakes her head, "It's not from me" she admits before opening her jacket and revealing her shirt that reads Big sister, just like we planned. Both of my parents glance at her shirt and their eyes widen and snap towards me, "You're pregnant?" My mom asks softly,  shock evident in her features. I nod, "Yeah" I answer seeing her eyes fill with tears, "Oh my goodness" she laughs softly, "You're pregnant" she repeats smiling widely as she tries to process everything.

"Are you guys mad?" I ask nervously but my mom immediately shakes her head, "Absolutely not, I'm thrilled" she admits walking towards me and pulling me in for a tight hug, "Congratulations kiddo" Shawn smiles widely, "Thanks dad".

"I'm going to be a big sister!" Elli exclaims making everyone laugh, to say she was excited was an understatement.

"What are you doing?" I ask sitting next to Josh's who typing away on his computer. "Looking at houses" he explains simply with a small shrug, I furrow my brows and glance at the houses he's looking at, "Why?" I ask confused.

"Because this apartment isn't big enough for our little family of soon to be four and anyways I want a house and not an apartment" he explains making me frown, "But that means more packing" I lot causing him to chuckle, "Well if I find a big enough house we won't have to move again" I sigh and nod "I guess".
