Tom's P.O.V
I was waiting outside of Molly's high school. I think we were going to her house. I was nervous. Would her mom be there? Her dad? Or she'd mentioned a big brother...was he going to whoop my ass for breaking his little sister's wrist? Fuck this. I needed air.
I waited outside the truck for her to come out. My car was in the shop getting fixed so my boss had let me borrow the work pick up for a few days.
She was walking down the steps with a boy. He had curly blonde hair and blue eyes and a 311 shirt. He was carrying her books for her. I bit my lip. She'd be hating every second of this. She was not the type of girl that wanted to have her books carried for her dude.
I waved at her and she frowned slightly at the truck behind me.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey."
The guy looked between us and drew me a death glare. Wow this guy was pathetic. He wanted to threaten me? Never gonna happen bro.
"Oh sorry this is Josh. You know Dani's little brother? Josh this is-"
"I know who you are. I've been to a few of your shows." He said with a nod.
There was an awkward tension between us. We didn't shake hands and he didn't say he'd liked or hated the shows. He said nothing. But he said it all with his eyes. His eyes said she's mine and don't even think about it asshole. I smirked. Oh poor dumb kid actually thinking Molly could ever be anyone's. Dream on.
Molly frowned.
"O....k. Let's go. See you tomorrow Josh."
He nodded and passed her her books back.
I looked at her with raised eyebrows as we sat in my truck.
"Oh so it's ok for Josh to carry your books but I can't open doors for you?"
Molly blushed and I laughed.
"No! I fucking hate it when he takes my books for me but it's easier than arguing with him every single day. He's been really weird with me today I don't know what's going on with him." She said shaking her head.
"It's obvious. He's jealous."
Molly laughed.
But I shook my head.
"I'm serious. He's into you. Didn't you see the way he was looking at me?"
Molly hesitated.
"I thought that's just because he didn't like you. Pretty normal reaction really."
I rolled my eyes.
"Oh haha. Well maybe but he definitely doesn't like me because I'm hanging out with you."
Molly wrinkled her nose up.
"Stop. We're not hanging out we're just working together...maybe. Depending on how today goes. And ew gross Josh is like my brother-"
"Well he doesn't think of you like you think of him trust me."
She shuddered.
"Can we just talk about something else?"
I nodded smiling at how awkwardly cute she looked right now. I can't believe she hadn't realised Josh liked her.
"What's with the new wheels?" She asked.
"It's my work truck. My car is in the shop getting fixed. Anyway how was school?"
She glared at me and I laughed.
