Jake Peralta was well known throughout the 99th precinct. His whole squad was.
Even though you were on that same team, no one knew your name. What made it even worse? You developed a crush on the goofy cop.
"ALRIGHT GUYS GATHER ROUND!" Jake shouted.
Terry, Amy, Rosa, Gina, Charles, Hitchcock, Skully and even holt all gathered around.
"Why can't that be me.." you mumbled.
Turning away you missed the slightly sad looks they all have you. You missed the disappointed look on Jakes face.
30 minutes later and they were still there, you could hear them making puns. You tried your best not to giggle at a few that Jake said but it was getting harder to do.
"How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh?" Jake asked.
You stopped to listen to the rest.
"10-tickles." He snickered.
Unable to hold back you burst out laughing, slamming you hand over your mouth you ducked down. Everyone looked around.
"Whoever laughed at my pun, thank you and you're now promoted to my new best friend."
They group all heard a thud from someone falling a very female groan come from below a desk.
"(Y/N)?" Holt asked.
"Captain."
"(Y/N)? Great! Let's go! You are now my new best friend!" Jake grinned.
You blushed madly and tried to make yourself smaller.
"I.. pass..?" It came out more as a question.
"Can't pass sorry!"
Jake smiled softly as you stood up, he could see the blush on your face. Holding out his hand, he waited for you to take it.
"Let's get coffee?" He asked.
Grinning again when you nodded and ever so gently took his hand, his plan worked. Now time for part two, earn a date
