Jake couldn't take his eyes away from you across the bar, you were laughing, smiling, joking as if the universe was on your side.

"Come on man, you can't keep doing this to yourself." Terry sighed.

"I hate to admit it, but the sarg is right." Rose followed.

"You been stare at every time you see her." Amy pointed out.

Jake took his eyes away from you to look at the group, stealing a quick glance at you, his lips twitching up at the sight of your smile, but his heart felt like r had been stabbed.

"I'm not staring, just... admiring..."

"I think it's romantic." Charles smiled.

Everyone glared at Charles and he quickly closed his mouth.

Jake went back to looking at you.

"Look, just go talk to her idiot. It's sickening seeing you like this." Rosa grumbled walking away.

"I have to agree with Rosa, without the sickening part... you should talk to (Y/N)."

They all left and Jake sat there, he wanted to talk to you. He wanted to walk over there and take you into his arms again, he wanted to hear your laughter, and be the reason you're smiling, but he wasn't.

He was the reason your heart was broken, he was the reason you spent night up crying, the reason why you left the 99. Instead of being the reason you were happy, he was the reason your heart had been broken.

All because he couldn't tell you how he really felt, or show you that he cared. He pushed you away, and he lost you.

All while Jake was lost in his head, he never saw you getting up, but he was brought back out of his head by someone viscously shaking.

"Go get her man!" Terry whisper yelled.

Jake quickly scrambled from his seat and rushed his way towards the door, throwing it open. He looked all around and found you headed down the street.

"(Y/N)!" He called.

You stopped and faced him.

"Jake?" You asked.

He nodded and jogged closer, the pair of you slowly making your way down the street.

"It's been a while." You noted.

"Yeah... how have you been? How's the new precinct?"

"Alright and it's boring."

Jake didn't really know what else to say, you were being cold and blunt towards him. Yet, he knew full well that he deserved it.

"Why did you call me?" You asked after a few minutes.

Jake slowly stopped walking making yours too, turning to face him. Jake admired you for a few seconds, he loved the way the streetlights hit you face.

"I.. theres... I want to say something to you..."
You nodded your head, letting him know you heard him.

"I'm not good with words... but... you already know that..."

"Yeah, I do..."

"(Y/N), I love you. I never said anything because I didn't know how, and when I lost you it was he worst day of my life."

"Even worse then that day you dropped you sandwich?"

"Even worse than that." He chuckled nervously, "I know nothing will make up for what I did, but I just want one more chance if you'll let me. If not I'll understand and never bother you."

You sighed, and walked closer, placing your hand on his cheek and Jake looked at you, his eyes connecting with yours.

"Jake..." you sighed softly.

Leaning forward, you pressed your lips to his in a gentle kiss and pulled away with a smile.

"I never stopped loving you."

Letting your hand fall from his face, you offered him a smile and took a step away, turning back the way you were going.

"I'll see you around."

You went to carrying on walking, but Jake quickly grabbed your hand and spun you around, your body crashing into his as he hugged you, burying his face into the crook of your neck.

You froze for a second, but hugged him back just as tightly.

"I'm never letting you go again..." he whispered
