Jake never thought he'd be here, sat in a hospital room, staring at your pale body hooked up to machines.

He never thought he'd see the day wheee you'd fall, the great warrior of the 99th precinct.

You were meant to be unstoppable, unmovable, a statue of bravery for all of the officers around the city.

You never fell, never stumbled or stuttered, you knew exactly what you wanted, you knew exactly what you wanted to do and you knew how to get what you wanted.

He remembered when he got the news.

"Attention!" Holt called.

Everyone looked over to the captains office, Jake spun around in his chair to face his captain, a curious look on his face.

"There's a hostage situation in a bank three blocks away. 10 civilians are involved, along with three officers. Detective James, Officer Finch and lastly..." holt trailed off, looking at them all one by one, "Detective (L/N)."

Jake stood up, his chair falling over with a loud bang, and everyone turnt to face him. His expression showing nothing but horror and worry.

"She'll be alright." Amy whispered, "remember she is the warrior of the 99."

Jake wanted to say something but he couldn't, so he simply sat down and started to type furiously, checking every news site he possibly could.

"You'll be okay.." he whispered taking your hand.

It was cold to the touch, it made him shiver. Your skin was pale, your body looked stiff but seemed so relaxed at the same time.

"There's been an update, four civilians have been let out, along with Officer Finch."

"Any news of (Y/N)?!" Jake asked desperately.

"There has been no update of those in the bank." Holt replied.

Jake stood up and sighed, shaking his head a little.

He needed a drink and some fresh air, he hated leaving your side, but he was at leat thankful that Holt had given him some time off to keep you company in the hospital.

Yet, you still had yet to wake up or even move.

"We have confirmed shots have been fired, the culprits have been detained. The civilians are safe, there is however one injury."

Jake shot up, everyone crowded around Holt as he took a deep breath. They'd all been worried about you, trying to distract themselves for the past two hours.

"Just tell us already!" Boyle whined.

Holt opened his mouth, but was quickly shut down by someone shouting.

"The warrior of the 99 has fallen!" Someone screamed.

Jakes whole world fell, everything seemed to slow, all he could hear was the pounding of his heart.

Without thinking, he ran towards the lift, he didn't care about anything, he would run to every hospital if he had to just to find you.

It took him hours, he left his phone so no one could get in contact with him, but he finally found what hospital you were in.

He collapsed on the floor in front of reception, Gina placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.

He remembered waiting for hours, anxiously pacing back and forth while he waited for news on you.

It had been two weeks since then, and he had been by your side every day.

Jake took a quick walk around before he made his way back to your room, taking a seat by your side once more and bringing your hand to his head.

Jake felt the tears brimming as he closed his eyes, his leg bouncing up and down.

"I... don't know if you can hear me... I wanna believe that you can. Please just... wake up... please... please..." he begged quietly.

Yet again, just like every other time Jake spoke to you, he received no response and his heart broke just a little bit more.

Jake squeezed your hand lightly, his tears dripping onto the floor.

"Just wake up!" He yelled, "you can't leave us!"

His whole body wracked with sobs, then he felt it. It was small, but he was sure it happened.

Quickly wiping his tears away, he gazed at your hand intently.

A twitch.

It was small, gentle, barely noticeable, but it was still there and a smile twitched at his lips.

"(Y/N)... you can do it..." he whispered.

Your hand twitched again, and so did your face.

Your eyes opened a tiny bit and quickly closed before fluttering open once more. They stared at the ceiling, before slowly making their way around the room, finally landing on him.

His red eyes widened as you gazed at him, and they quickly closed as he smiled widely. His hand still holding onto your securely.

"I'm so glad you're okay.."

You stared at him, you wanted to talk but your voice wouldn't work.

You simple just looked at him, mind reeling, your head was fuzzy, nothing made sense you couldn't recognise the man sat before you.

Who are you? And why do I feel safe around you? Why do I feel like I know you? Why does... my chest hurt seeing you like this...?
