Being a police officer was the best thing that happened to you, or so you thought. No one bothered to speak to you, it was a bit like school really. Jake and his friends were the popular students and you were the one always on their own. The only person who knew your name was Captain Holt and he mostly forgot you were there.
As they were all getting ready to head home at the end of the day, you swung you coat over your shoulder and grabbed the file you had, they were transfer papers. Placing them on Holts desk, he and Jake looked up in surprise.
"What's this?"
"My transfer paper sir."
"Why would you request that? You are one of the best detectives here!"
You shrugged, giving him a small smile and walking out. Only just catching Jake asking Holt who you were. That stun a lot, how can they not know you after you working there for nearly 5 years?
When the morning came around you dressed in a pair of jeans, a light shirt and a hoodie. Putting in headphone you headed to the precinct to you in order to clear you desk.
"You are really leaving?" Jane asked sadly.
You and her would often go for drinks on a Friday, you always went to lunch together.
"Yeah Jane, I'm sorry. It's better this way, but hey we can still meet for drinks."
"We better, someone's gotta pick up my tab." She chuckled.
Punching her arm you rolled your eyes and stepped into the elevator, waving at her. When you reached your desk there were flowers and chocolates with a little note.
Hey
We found out that you decided to get a transfer, please don't leave! It won't be the same without you :(
Scoffing, you crumbled the note and tossed it into your bin. Removing the flowers you chucked them in the bin as well and placed the chocolates on Hitchcocks and Skully's desks. Unaware of the eyes watching you.
Taking a box, you started to remove things from the draws of the desk. The soft padding of feet catching your attention.
"Hey!"
"Uhm... hi?" You asked confused, looking up you were met with Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago.
"Don't leave, please?" Amy asked.
"Why not?" You snapped.
She flinched back from the harshness in your tone.
"We'd all miss you! It wouldn't be the same!" Jake protested.
"Tell me Jake, do you even know my name? Or perhaps how many people I arrested this year? Do you even know me?" You glared harshly before going back to packing.
Jake and Amy felt guilt building up, looking back at Terry, Holt and Charles for help, the trio walked over. Someone clearing their throat made you groan but look up. Meeting the eyes of the new comers.
"What?" You sighed, running a hand down your face.
"Stay! Let us make it up to you? Any way you want, we promise." Terry smiled.
Kicking your feet back, you watched as Rosa joined the small group. A slightly confused look on her face.
"No."
"Please?" Jake begged.
As if to add to his pleas, Jake got on his knees, shuffling to your sigh he placed his hands together and tried his best to do puppy eyes. You didn't see anything but honesty, Guilt and Sadness with a mix of something else in those big brown eyes. Letting out a huff, you flicked his head causing him to Yelp.
"Fine. I'll stay, one month, that's it. Then I'll decide."
True to their words everyone tried their best to get to know you. The person who was most persistent was Jake, everyday after work he insisted on taking you out for coffee, which had now become a normal thing. You two were currently walking towards your favourite cafe.
"So (Y/N), I was wondering if maybe you'd like to... gooutonadate!"
"Jake! Slow down man, I can't catch any of that."
"Would you like to go on a date?" He asked.
"We've only talked for one month?"
"But I really like you! More then I've liked anyone before! Please!" He got on his knees like he did that day.
People stopped to watch the scene, your eyes softened and you stifled a laugh.
"Jake, I'd like to go on a date with you. I've liked you for at least a year.." you admitted.
"Cool! Awesome! Great! Noice! Let's go!"
He grabbed your hand, large smile on his face and begun to pull you along the streets. It made you laugh how happy he was. And it all started with a simple question.
"Who is she?"
