To Ere

The hardest task I've found
Is removing someone from your heart
Forgetting someone you've loved
Oh baby it is a crafty, fine art

But I don't know what's harder
Missing someone I've never had
Or envisioning a future with the one I've lost
Oh how it truly makes me sad

I ache for the ache of my lover
As his endeavor truly is not sublime
I yearn to understand how to help
In his need but yet a fortune mistime

I scramble to find our pieces
Strewn about as broken shards
As frantically I piece them back
Forming a new you which I regard

For I could never forsake him
Especially in his desperate time of need
And I know he feels the same way
Yet here we are upon each other we bleed

Bleed for the heartache and the unjust
A timely fortune unknown to us
Here our suffering has us faltering
Ourselves a growing state of muss

So now I'm faced with the biggest fear
One that we both share
Is removing you from my heart
A task that I've never had to ere
