Stopped on the Streets

After we ate a large breakfast, we all helped Usnavi clean his house, and then we left to go on with our days.

I left the house, and decided to do a little grocery shopping. As I walked, I scanned the beautiful landscape. The sky was a pale blue, a few white clouds dotted around. The sun shone down rays of warmth. It was an astonishing day. A small smile formed on my lips.

"Hey you," I hear an unfamiliar feminine voice call out.

"Who?" I respond, stopping in my tracks.

"You."

"Who me?" I ask spinning around.

"Yep." She smiles sweetly. The girl has tan skin, hazel eyes, and wavy brown hair. She has a slim figure, and she wears a purple and black shirt, with a black leather jacket, with black ripped jeans. She has on leather mini-boot wedges.

"What do you need?" I question.

"My name is Ashlie!" She is still smiling.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Y/n," I smile back.

"I was at the club last night and couldn't help but notice you,"

"Oh, really?"

"Yep!"

"Why's that?" I ask, very confused.

"Well, let's just say, you can have Benny!"

"Huh?"

Her smile turns into a scowl. "Usnavi is mine."

"I-uh." I stutter, knowing exactly what to say, but I can't seem to form the words.

"Good!" Her smile comes back, and she turns to leave. There is no way I'm letting this prissy brat treat Usnavi like an object.

"No," I start, a wave of confidence coming over me.

"Excuse moi?" She turns back and puts her hand up daintily.

"Usnavi isn't an object. Even if I did like him, I would never treat him like one! As his friend, I will not let you talk about him as if he is an object. I think it's best you stay away from him, he deserves so much better than you. Also, if you ever find love, I would recommend not treating them like an object!" I felt my face turn red from anger.

The girl giggles. "You're so cute! Now, I'd recommend YOU staying away from Usnavi. Or Else!"

"Never," I scowl.

"Maybe after this you will!" She quickly reaches her hand out to my face, and drives it across my face. I stand tall, despite the stinging sensation on my cheek. Ashlie huffs, turns her heel, and walks off without another word. As soon as she's out of sight, I feel tears prick my eyes. yes, my cheek stung, but I was tearing up because I felt alone. I felt more alone than I ever had in my life. I felt myself begin to shake. I sat on a nearby bench. My breaths quickened, and I felt weak. I felt useless.

I realize that I should be getting home. I go to the grocery mart, and get all the food I need. I rush home, and I just break down.
