After several months of hard training, Lady Palutena declared I was finally ready to battle Ketsuki. She also stated that I had gotten more mature, more optimistic than before, and less whiny. I could hardly contain my excitement and enveloped my arms around her, hugging her tightly. The goddess gave me a surprised look, and then returned the hug. She embraced me lovingly, stating, "You did it, my dear Mimi! I'm so proud of you!" After hearing those words, I felt proud of myself, like I could accomplish anything. I was just about to lie down on the grassy field and rest when the goddess gave me a confused look, followed by a chuckle. "What are you doing?" She asked me. I breathed a sigh of relief, and replied, "I'm going to rest now. It's my reward for finally being able to battle Ketsuki." "Rest? There's no time for rest! Come on, we have to tell everyone in the portal the good news." She responded, laughing. I thought about disobeying her and tuning her out, but then I realized I had already caused enough trouble. "All right, I'll follow you." I stated, with indifference.

As we headed towards The Portal, I realized something, and stopped abruptly. "Lady Palutena, what day is it today?" I asked her. She paused for a moment, hesitating for a few seconds, then replied, "I believe it is March 15th." "You should be excited, tomorrow is your special day." It took me a moment to process what she meant. Special day? What did she mean by that? She couldn't have meant my birthday. Before I could come up with a reply, a white winged figure enveloped me in his arms. The figure was none other than Pit. "Congratulations, you did it!" He exclaimed. "Thanks." I replied, returning the hug. As I turned to go back to the portal, I felt a disturbance in the calm atmosphere that was dreary and ominous. It was as if all happiness had gone away, and nothing could bring it back. I began to feel uneasy, my stomach churning around and around, as I ran towards the Portal... Or so I thought.

I arrived at the portal to find Toadsworth and the others giving me a warm welcome. I bid them hello, beaming with joy. "Congrats, Madam Mimi!" Toadsworth exclaimed. "You did a fine job with your training. Why don't you relax? Take a load off! Stay here, after all, there's nothing more for you to do." I broke into a cold sweat, my palms shaking. "There's nothing more for me to do? Impossible! Rosalina told me there's still more for me to accomplish! What about everyone who's counting on me?" I responded, quivering. The old mushroom gave me an icy gaze, and yanked my arm forcefully, almost snapping it. I kept calm and tried not to scream, my arm numb with pain. "Didn't I say there was nothing more for you to do?!" He snapped at me, gritting his teeth. "You're so meddlesome, honestly, kid!" I was shocked at his behavior and mannerisms. The real Toadsworth NEVER acted this way towards me. I observed my surroundings. Everyone seemed to be smiling at me, urging me to join in on the fun. Still, something didn't seem right. These weren't the people I had known. It's almost like they were faking having known me... as if they were wearing masks.
