Chapter XXXVIII

OMNISCIENT

Sana was oddly silent as she sits beside Jimin while he drives. She doesn't know what to say to him because she now knows who she wants. She wants Taehyung back again as well and she would take the risk of leaving Jimin.

"You okay?" Jimin asked as soon as he parked the car. They reached the venue in no time because there's no traffic. Sana, her head flying elsewhere, was startled when he touched her hand. "What's the matter?"

She made a nervous smile and shook her head sideways. Jimin then gave her a quick peck on her lips before hopping off. He opened the car's door for his girlfriend, being a gentleman for her.

He handed out his hand and she looked at it for a few seconds before taking it. Everything that she does now is completely hesitant. Unsure. She doesn't know if she's doing the right thing or not.

"You look dashing," he whispered, so she held her head low and smiled hesitatntly to her boyfriend.

"T-Thank you." They reached the ballroom right away. A lot of people started welcoming Jimin since he's quite popular. They know Sana, too, but they don't see her that often.

"They're all looking at us." Sana told him and it made her sweat cold.

"They're all looking at you." He held hee hand tighter and kissed her cheek. "Don't you worry."

Seulgi saw them from afar. She looked away and sighed. It's been so many months already since their break up, but her heart still aches for Jimin. He was her first love. He was that person who loved Seulgi more than himself, so seeing Jimin with someone else felt unreal for Seulgi. She might've moved on from Mina, but now that Jimin has found a new girl to replace them that easily makes her think hard.

"Are we really that easy to replace?" Seulgi thought. "I thought Mina would be his last love." She was at that moment when Sorn asked her to go to the washroom with her because she wants to fix her make up again. She looked at him for the last time and went with Sorn.

Jimin was assigned with Seulgi and Sorn on the same table. There were 8 seats and Sana is supposedly not counted, but since she's a plus one, they have to give her a seat. He doesn't know that he's with the same table as Seulgi, so he was still smiling when he sat beside his girlfriend.

"Do you want some water?" He asked, but Sana just shook her head sideways. "Okay. You just want me, don't you?" He smirked and tried pulling off some sleezy quote, but Sana's head was flying elsewhere, so she didn't hear him. "Don't you, baby?" Sana went back to reality when Jimin repeated his last words. His smiling face makes her feel guilty. She just smiled and nodded. "You're awfully quiet. What's up? Are you sick?" He touched his forehead, but her temperatude is normal. She doesn't have any illness or what. She was just having a hard time deciding on whether who should she choose.

After some time, Seulgi and Sorn went back to their table just to see Jimin flirting with his unbothered girlfriend. "We're in the same table as Jimin? That's akward." Sorn tsk-ed and asked Seulgi. "Do you want to switch tables with another?"

Seulgi made a shy smile, "I'm okay, Sorn. I'm okay."

"It's not okay for me, girl. That guy replaced you with Mina and then she replaced her with that woman after she died!" Sorn blurted out.

Seulgi's eyebrows crossed instantly because of her rant, "Died? Who?"

"Mina." Seulgi seemed curious. She wanted to know why. "She died about...a couple of months ago, I guess? Some say it was a car accident."

"Is that why I don't see her anymore?" Seulgi asked and Sorn nodded right away.

"Jimin's a playboy. I am sure of that." Seulgi cannot stop thinking about Mina's death. She never received any rumor or news that Jimin's previous love interest died. They most probably kept it as a secret. Seulgi thought.

They walked towards the table and the couple noticed the two right away. Jimin gulped and Sana seemed flustered. She doesn't know what to do. Well, Jimin's freaky ex-girlfriend is sharing tables with them!

"Hey," Seulgi made the first greeting. Jimin was a bit awkward, so he just replied by smiling slightly and bowing his head. "I'm sending my prayers."

Jimin was taken aback for a milisecond, but then he recovered immediately. "I-It's okay." She was talking about Mina's death, you fool! Jimin scolded himself inside his head.

The tables were filled and so the program started. There were opening makrs and different band performances by the school organizations and Dahyun is not an exception. She played the piano with a band.

Everyone wanted for an encore, but they just slipped the request. The time is tabled already and they just have to follow the schedule.

The aura of the venue suddenly changed when the lights went dim and slow. A key from the organ was pressed and it was followed by a beautiful piece played by Dahyun.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the dance floor is open." Jimin stood up right away and asked for Sana's hand. She stared at the hand for a while before taking it. She went with him on the dance floor and they were the ones who first stepped on the floor. They danced on the center spot and other couples started dancing, too.

Sana's eyes were shaking. Her pupils were trembling and she cannot express how she would feel. Jimin held her chin and grinned, "I'm a jealous person. You should only look at me." Sana looked into Jimin's innocent pair of eyes. There is too much goodness in his eyes and she cannot stand looking at how pure he is. "I love your eyes." He started. "I love your tall nose. I love your pump lips. I love your soft skin. I love your sexy figure." He spoke. She was a bit offended because Jimin made it look like he just loves her physical characteristics. She was about to retort when he again spoke his mind out. "I love your laughs. I love your cute giggles. I love your carefree personality. I love you." He kissed her on her forehead.

And it did not escape from Seulgi's eyes.

There was a sting against her chest and that hurted her so much. She held onto Sorn's arm which is a failure because it was not Sorn whom she grabbed. She looked behind her and saw a guy with a mullet hairstyle. He has sharp eyes and a captivating smirk. "I-I'm sorry," Seulgi apologized.

"It's okay. I understand."

"Understand?" The young man looked at Seulgi's wrapped hand on his wrist. Seulgi noticed it right away and took her hand off. "I-I'm sorry."

"It's okay." He chuckled. "It's funny how he was able to replace you."

"I know," was all that she could say.

"I better get going," before he could even walk away, Seulgi asked for his name. He smiled before giving her an answer. "Im Jaebum. JB for short." Jaebum... he waved his hand good bye before fleeing. Seulgi was, again, left alone on the table.

Meanwhile, Jimin kept his forehead against Sana's. He closed his eyes and he's really swaying with the romantic flow of the music.

"Jimin," she mentioned his name.

"Hmm? Yes, baby?" He asked and that put another stack of guilt inside of her heart.

"Let's break up."
