If you love someone but can't spend any time with them, does that mean they aren't right for you?

The thought fluttered into your mind for a moment, before you blinked hard, coming back to reality.

The person who had been on your mind was Monika, the current president of the Literature Club. When Sayori, your childhood friend, had brought you here, the only reason you joined, had been for Monika's sake. So that you could spend more time with her. She was way out of your league, but that wouldn't stop you from trying to win her over.

Taking a deep breath, you rose to your feet and walked over to the teacher's desk, where Monika was writing a poem in her notebook. Noticing your presence, she looked up, a welcoming smile on her face. "Oh, hello, Y/N! What brings you here?"

Every time you heard her clear, confident voice, your heart started beating a little faster. "O-oh... nothing," you stuttered, trying to keep the fact that your face was turning red a secret.

Monika stood up, walking over to you. "It's okay, you know," she said softly, looking deep into your E/C eyes. "If you need anything, you can just tell me."

You couldn't keep yourself from blushing this time. Her face was so close to yours. You could feel her warm breaths on your lips. It was taking every ounce of your self-control... You wanted to lean forward, and slam your lips on hers--

"Hey!" You suddenly heard a sharp voice from across the room. Flustered, you yanked away from Monika, who jumped away with a pink face.

You turned to the person who had rudely interrupted your moment with the president. Groaning, you saw Natsuki's bubblegum pink head bob up and down, coming closer to you two.

"Monika, did you move my manga again?!" Natsuki yelled, glaring daggers at the taller girl. You huffed, glaring at the tiny tsundere. She actually irritated you a lot, with the way she shamelessly interrupted everything you did.

Sighing, the club leader looked down at Natsuki. "Listen. I already told you, the teachers tell me to move it."

Rolling her rose eyes, Natsuki turned towards you. "Y/N!" She whined, crossing her arms. "Come get my manga! Not like I need your help or anything!"

Monika stepped forwards, lightly pushing Natsuki away. "They don't care!" She said sharply, causing Natsuki to gape.

"W-What are you talking about?!"

Monika continued nudging the smaller teen away. "They were talking to me, Natsuki. You completly interrupted us for something stupid."

Natsuki defensively curled her fists. "H-hey!" She cried out, her face going red. "It's not stupid! It's important to me!"

Monika laughed coldly, pushing the pink-eyed girl back farther. "Maybe to you, but that's all!" She grinned down at her, as she fell to the floor. "Not even your own father cares about it. He doesn't care about you either."

Sayori, who had been watching the entire ordeal from beside Yuri, stood up and ran over to the two. "Hey, hey..." she said, pressing her fingers together nervously.

Natsuki crawled to her feet, tearing up a little. "Monika, why are you doing this?" She hissed, trying to keep her voice strong.

Monika kneeled down to Natsuki's height, eyes cold as stone. "Because you're an annoying little brat, who's getting what she deserves."

A tear fell down Natsuki's face, and she barred her teeth at Monika. "I-I hate you!" She sobbed at Monika, before running out of the room and crying.

Sayori gasped at Monika. "Look what you did!" She scolded. "Why?"

You sat by, watching all of this. You were shocked. You never thought Monika was the kind of girl to bully someone until they ran off. Especially not someone as tough as Natsuki.

Monika's lips curled into a devious smirk. "And Sayori. You're just as annoying as Natsuki is."

Sayori pouted, walking up to Monika. "No matter what you say, I'm not leaving," boasted the vice president. "I'm gonna make sure you treat Yuri and Y/N right, at least."

Monika chuckled, a strange look in her eyes. She clutched the front of Sayori's orange vest, before leaning close to her ear and whispering something.

"Stop it!" Yuri ordered, racing up to the pair. But it was too late. Sayori pulled away in disgust, her wet eyes meeting Monika's. A river of tears started to flow down her face. "Why would you say something like that?!" She screamed, covering her ears.

"Because it's true."

Sayori began to weep, still smiling. She turned her gaze to Yuri, then you, then Monika. "Uuuuuuuuuu..." She moaned, before charging out of the room.

Yuri followed after her. Before she left completly, she turned a cold glare to Monika. "You're a horrible person," she remarked, before leaving, slamming the door behind her.

Once all of the girls were gone, Monika ran towards you, on the teacher's desk. "Y/N," she panted, holding you to the table.

You looked away, your face beginning to go red. "W-why--"

Monika placed her soft finger on your lips, making you blush harder. Your crush, one of the most popular people in the entire school, was on top of you.

"Y/N, please don't be mad at me for saying those things about them. It's just... if I didn't, they would never leave us alone. And I need to do this."

Monika took her finger away from your mouth. Before you had the chance to speak, she pressed her lips against yours.

It felt like heaven on earth. Her lips tasted like sugar, felt like marshmallows... You wrapped your arms around her, before sitting up. "I... love you..." You stuttered, looking into her eyes.

Monika grinned. "I love you too. And thank you... for understanding! Now, let me just tell the group chat sorry about yelling at them..."

You watched as Monika opened her phone, typing a new message into the Literature Club group chat.

lilmonix: HAHA SORRY FOR YELLING AT YOU ALL I LOVE YOU BUT I HAD TO GET YOU OUT OF THE ROOM TO TELL Y/N HE WAS MINE. TAKE THAT.

You laughed when you saw what Monika had sent. "Monika!" You cried out through your laughter.

The girl chuckled, nuzzling into your body. "Ahaha... I love you so much."
