Never came to my small brain that this needs a suicide trigger warning. So here's a suicide trigger warning.
Life sucks.
Everyone always tells you that it'll get better and that you can make it through this, but just a day in your shoes would completely destroy them. They could never know how much pain and suffering and anger you went through each day, unless they experienced it for themselves.
Nevertheless, you always kept quiet about the situation uou found yourself in. You knew you'd be judged. In a world filled with people who fake these kinds of things, they'd assume that you were nothing but an attention seeker.
You really felt trapped.
But there WAS one person. This person was your best friend, and she understood you. She even related to you. This girl was Sayori, your neighbor and best friend since you two were children.
She'd invited you to a club one day, and, with no prior knowledge to where you were going, you accepted. And she led you to the club you were in today-- the Literature Club. The girls there always made you feel at home.
And for her another day, you were at a desk in the back of the room, furiously scribbling down the little thoughts that you found floating amidst your head.
Once you had finished up two pieces of paper in your notebook, you let it fall shut and stowed it away in your bag. Everybody seemed so quiet, except for Natsuki and Yuri, who were squabbling in a corner. But even then, their argument was in nothing but whispers.
It was Sayori who broke the quiet, shooting out of her seat while gaping. "Oh, yeah!" She cried, seemingly remembering something she'd previously forgotten. Her mouth closed into a smile, and she spoke quickly. "Hey, I'm gonna bring a new member tomorrow!" She started, making everyone shut up.
"A new member?" Monika repeated, a shimmer of interest in her big green eyes.
Sayori nodded, continuing soon after. "Yeah, it's my friend, MC!" She addrs, giggling at just the name.
Natsuki seemed to brush the situation off, and Yuri dismissed it as well. However, looks of excitement could be seen on both of their faces. You weren't too excited, but you knew that a friend of Sayori's must have been interesting.
The meeting continued blandly, ending as though nothing had happened in the first place. The only thing that made you smile was the end of the merting, when Sayori and you stepped out into the nice, warm afternoon air.
On the way home, Sayori started to talk about your more... personal topics. "So, how was today?" She asked, and you knew exactly what she meant.
"It was okay," you mumbled, hanging your head a bit. "I mean, I had some times where I was really contemplating it, but I'm still here."
Her eyes flash with eorry, and a her lips formed a small frown. "But will you still be here when you go through that door...?" She asked softlt, jutting a finger at your house.
You sort of laughed. "You worry too much Sayori," you commented, making her snicker sheepishly. "If you're so worried, you can just chat with me," you suggested, causing Sayori to take her phone out. She nodded and walked to her house, and you walked to yours as well. Then, once you were inside and out of your uniform, you and Sayori had a nice chat that went the whole night through.
____________________________________The next day, when you walked out of your house, you saw a boy you'd never seen before leaning against the gate to Sayori's house. You halted, giving him a once-over. He had short dark brown hair, glowing amber eyes, and other than that, looked like any other boy in the world.
