"No probs, have a seat." I smiled at her as she sat down.

She smiled back and we all drove into a conversation of whether mushrooms sleep or not.

Chapter 3 🥀

We were driving back home from the diner after saying bye to Kim. Our plan was to stop by Walmart and buy a few snacks and loads of chocolates when Summer got a message notification.

She asked me to read it out as she was driving

"It's from your momma" I said to her

"What does it say?"

Momma - Be home by 6, your dad is coming today and I'll need help with dinner. Oh, and buy some eggs xx

"I guess no more sleepover then" I sighed, half sad cause we won't be hanging out tonight and relieved she won't be strangling me with questions.

She pouted "I guess so, but oh Em geee, dad is coming today!!" She squealed at the end.

I winced and laughed at her excitement. Her dad is the CEO to Classicly Royal. It's a series of companies from hotels, restaurants, cafes and he has branches everywhere so he's always away and never home.

Sum dropped me at home and we rescheduled the sleepover to be in three days at her house.

I walked into the house and yelled "Mom, I'm home!!"

"She isn't home, left to see an old friend" came my sisters reply from the living room.

"And dad, Tyler?" I asked, taking off my jacket.

She shrugged, meaning she doesn't know.

I rolled my eyes and joined her. She was watching Finding Nemo, probably the reason for her low skilled communication.

We sat down watching the movie as I stuffed her popcorn to my mouth as she repeatedly glared at me.

"So," trying to start a conversation "how was your day?"

"Same as always'' was her Curt reply

I turned, looked at her again "What's wrong with you" she's definitely not herself.

She prentended to be engrossed in the movie "Nothing"

"Well I'm not buying it" I reached for the remote and switched the TV off

"What, hey I was watching it!" Ariel glared at me, trying to reach for the remote.

But my grip was firm and I held my hand high. She couldnt reach it no matter how hard she tries.

"Nuh-uh, tell me what's wrong and I promise to give you back the remote. Besides, you've watched Finding Nemo like fifty times!"

"Fine," she huffed "wanna know why I'm cold?"

I nodded for her to go on

"Whats today's date Sister?"

Her question confused me at first. I scrunched my face trying to figure out what the days date had to do with her cold treatment. Then it dawned on me

Her question answered my question, I knew why she was angry. I forgot. Oh my God I forgot. What kind of sister am I?

"I guess someone prefers to spend her day out than with her sister on a special day" she chocked out bitterly, tears brimming in her eyes.

"Oh my God Ari I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry, Gosh how could I forget, I'm soooooo sorry Ari it's just ...."

"Save it" she stopped me "There's no excuse to make up for forgetting your sisters birthday"

And with that, she ran upstairs probably to her room with already tear stained face.

Gosh, I'm such a terrible person.
