"What were you thinking, you could have gotten yourself killed" Mason said, he looked like he was about to pass out from terror, his face was pale and sweaty, his hands wouldn't stop shaking.

"Oh my god, Caden. Are you okay, is he okay, what happened to him, he'll be fine right?!" Matt and Lily fussed over me, Lily checking me over for injuries and Matt asked everyone if I was okay. Um like hello I am right here you know, I pushed lily away from me and stepped back.

"I can answer for myself you know and I'm fine" I informed them, some of them gave a small smile and some nodded their heads, the two men beside us started to push us forwards as they lead us out of the building, they shot all the empties that came anywhere close to us, keeping us safe till we got out.

*Caden's P.O.V* 

Once we were outside, I squinted under the sun lights as it rose up from behind the trees I realised that there were two maybe three school busses lined up in front of us, I sighed in relief knowing that we're safe for now. We all rushed towards the last bus when we saw that the other two were full, everyone got on the bus, but I stayed outside with Matt and Charlie. I looked around for Alison but couldn't see her anywhere, I took a sneak peek inside the busses, but I still couldn't find her.

"hey guys, where's Ally? Have they got her and Jeremy out yet?" I asked still looking around for them both, but I saw the looks the two gave each other so I turned to face them looking confused as hell right now. 

"Guys? What is it, what's going on?" I asked again, worry and anxiety building up inside me as they still didn't answer me, neither of them would look at me.

"just tell him already, he deserves to know she is his crush after all." I look behind me towards the buses doors to see Ethan, he stepped down of the bus with Alex behind him.

"dude!... don't just tell everyone that." I exclaimed, moving to go towards him but I was held back by Matt. Alex moved in front of me with his hands up as if he was surrendering but that didn't help.

"calm down Caden! Everyone already knows about your little crush on Ally" Alex said to me trying to calm me down, I slowly stopped struggling against Matt to look around at everyone, Ethan and Matt both nodded their heads while matt muttered 'yeah' under his breath and Charlie gave me an apologetic smile I signed looking down at the floor in defeat and embarrassment, I could feel my cheeks warming up as the blush crept up onto my cheeks.

"please tell me she doesn't know about it, that would be embarrassing" I said covering my face, scared to look at anyone in the face. 

"dude it's Allison, she can be oblivious to literally anything that involves someone liking her." Matt replied, trying to help calm my nerves and it did help me a little, so I gave him a small smile in thanks.  

"Caden... I'm sorry but we were told that the herd of Empties came from the quarantine area. No one knows if Jere or Ally got out, they don't know if they turned as well" Charlie told me, her eyes looked sad and her voice full of worry for her friends.

I felt like I couldn't breathe, 'no, no she must have gotten out, she has to. She's the strongest one out of all of us, she's the one who's keeping us all together right now. She's can't be dead, she's just can't be.' I thought I struggled to breath, but Charlie and Matt were there to help calm me down again.
