Chapter 5: calm before the storm
Recap:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"ah so you're john's girl, well it's nice to finally meet you young lady, I'm Even Miller" he said extending his hand for me shake, looking at it I raised my hand and gave him a firm handshake.
"it's nice to meet as well sir" I said to him giving a smile and letting my hand dropped back to my side, I knew from there on out things would change.
Hearing my friends calling for me I turned to see them waving me to come back, turning back to frank he nodded his head to let me go I said my goodbye to him and sergeant Miller and walked back to my friends, looking around me I couldn't help but have a bad feeling about everything it's like I can tell when something bad is going to happen, but surely we should be safe now that the army are here right? Wrong, thing's could never be the same, not after the things we'll go through but we'll go through them together because we have each others backs, no one else will die.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The looks of hope and smile's is something you should be grateful of but I'm not grateful, in fact I'm the opposite, I know I should be grateful It's just i cant help but have this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. As I walked to my friends I realised that even they had hope in their eyes, so maybe I'm just imagining it but I guess for now we can enjoy the peace.
"how do you know that guy?" Matthew asked me once I had reached them, he was leaning against the wall behind him, one of his legs up on the wall and his arms cross over his chest.
"he used to look after me when I was a kid, he's my dad's best friend" I replied to him stopping in my tracks to stand next to jace and Ethan.
"why didn't you're mother look after you? Was she not there or...?" Ethan asked me, my body stiffened at the mention of my mother. I never like talking about her after the things she's put me through.
"well let's just say she's not exactly mother of my whole life" I replied to him, rolling my eyes in annoyance and crossing my arms over my chest.
"why what's she done" Jace asked me, lifting his head up from looking at the ground he turned his head to the side his eyes was looking curiously at me.
"she blames me because my dad left for the army, and when he was around he would always spend his time with me, she was always jealous of mine and dads relationship so she took her anger out on me, that's why I never talk about her" I told them, getting sympathy and pity looks of off them something I never wanted, I never liked the looks of sympathy and pity it makes me feel weak.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that" Jeremy said to me, he stepped forward and pulled me into a hug, his arms wrapping around my small body frame.
"it's okay, I'm fine it's something you get used to I guess" I said to him, uncrossing my arms to wrap around him as well, accepting his hug.
"you shouldn't have gone through something like that, it's not right" he whispered in to my ear, hugging me tighter if that was even possible.
"I'm fine, it's over now it's in the past" I reassured him, patting his back and pulling away from the hug, god if only they knew that I was still going through that bullshit.
He nodded his head with a small smile on his lips and walked away from me, looking around I could see the only people who was by me now was Matthew, Caden and lily. Charlie, Ethan and Jeremy are off to the side having a conversation, mason, Jace and Alex have gone off somewhere.
