Gwen was off to the side of the counter away from the cashier glancing down to her watch, little snow flakes sprinkled down the screen. She knew she had plenty of time, not that she had anywhere to go in a rush, she had finished her errands, but it was just something to do while waiting for her order. She looked over to the door of the shop hearing it jingle and saw a couple enter holding hands in matching scarfs. Gwen sighed through her nose disappointed at the fact she was single during the holidays, though it may of been more of boredom at this point.

She was among the small crowd waiting for their drinks and pastries wrapped in winter jackets. Her eyes wandered around at the people sitting together, either on their phones or clacking away at their laptops. If she didn't mind crowds she would have sat down with them with her own laptop that was slung on her shoulder in its leather bag.

An amused grin teased the side of her neutral expression at the small group of lumberjacks in a tight half circle by the window illuminated by the bright lights strung across the window and along the walls. They stood off to the side of the shop sipping their coffees out of paper cups. Obviously not enjoying the modern environment but after their long shifts, coffee was their life blood and they were eager to stay out of the chill air as evening approached.

'Opf, here comes another one', she mused spotting another one of the familiar plaid shirts under a heavy coat stop across the street seeing their local dinner and coffee spot closed down till after the holidays due to repairs. One of the chefs over the last few days had apparently gotten a bit to fancy with the oil and set a small kitchen fire due to some sort of grease build up. She wasn't quite sure, she had only heard rumors from the other locals after the dinner had its, "Closed Till After Christmas For Repairs" sign pop up in their window. Then soon after followed her preferred coffee shop being over crowded with displaced customers, and her picking up her coffee and drinking it at home, at least till the repairs were done.

Gwen watched the plaid shirted man look around after reading the sign on the door and then turn spotting the competitor coffee shop across the street. She saw his shoulders sag, almost hearing the groan of annoyance from him from across the road. Looking both ways he jogged across the street holding up his hand...she squinted... his paw up to oncoming traffic in thanks as they slowed for him.

She watched the broad creature push open the door with another soft ding as he slightly had to duck to come in. Her eyes lit up slightly, the creature was definitely a bear, what kind she could only guess, all she knew was he was attractive. All she knew he was big, brown, and there. The man looked a little disgruntled having to find a new location for food close by, waving slightly to the other men in the courner who nodded toward him in acknowledgment she knew he was in the same boat.

The female barista came to the counter looking a little intimidated at his stature, "Hi, thank you for choosing Sweets and Cream, what can I get for you today" she asked.

He sighed crossing his arms "Large Coffee, black, to go" he said gruffly.

Her toes curled a little at his low baritone voice as he scratched his neck slightly .

"Anything to eat with the coffee?" She asked.

Gwen looked up at him as his eyes wandered to the pastry case in front of him and he frowned a little, "I don't care for sweets, what else do you have?" He asked.
