Gwen nusseled the firm pillow under her head, wrapped in a soft blanket. The slight movement next to her made her quickly open her eyes once her brain recognized it was much too large to be Chamberlain. Calming down spotting the mass of brown fur she remembered last night and smiled gently seeing the contently sleeping bear next to her. A small blush dusted her face when she felt the slight tug at her waist, noting his arm was still snuggly around her. 'He's still so warm' she smiled and gently stroked his chest doing her best to keep her touch soft, not to wake him. She chuckled gently at the tickling sensation of the coarse fur running between her fingers stroking upward slowly.

Douglas held a small content smile that was pushing to become larger, but he wouldn't stir till she was finished. He was enjoying the soft petting too much to be bothered to question it, though he was curious what it would feel like between his ears, mentally drooling at the thought.

He felt her hands stop, and opened his eye a sliver when he felt her move under his arm to face the other way but not moving to get out of the bed. Making a convincing yawn, like he had just woken up he stretched a little next to her before settling back down into their spooning position, "Sleep ok?" he asked, his head resting above hers.

"Mhmm, yeah, you?" she questioned rolling her head toward him.

He smiled a bit wider, but it definitely looked more like a grin, "Yeah, but a little better than usual" he teased her slightly which made her cheeks go bright red and she sat up taking the blankets with her and pouted glaring back at him embarrassed.

Douglas let a deep chuckle roll off his chest before sitting up and swung his legs over the side and stood stretching toward the ceiling.

Gwen watched the muscles slightly move under the layer of fur as his shirt lifted a bit exposing the hidden flesh on his back.

Heavy steps followed as Douglas came down from his stretch and opened the curtains on the side of the bed. He narrowed his eyes slightly getting use to the change in light but smiled looking a bit at peace, "Looks like the storm rolled over, and the plows have been out" he said nodding toward the sliver of road he could see between the barren trees.

The blanket still wrapped around her she got off the bed and joined him by the window and peered outside as well looking at the white wonderland of snow. Looking up at Douglas she bit her lip a little in thought. "Thank you again, um, if I didn't thank you last night" she said.

Douglas looked down an eyebrow arched looking a little confused.

Gwens gaze returned to the window, "For dragging my stubborn but to safety, I don't know what would have happened last night if I kept going, or for how long I would have been going," she said her eyes softening the little morbid thoughts entering her head.

A comforting pair of arms wrapped around her shoulders and a mussel rested on the top of her head, "I'll save your sorry but any day of the week provided I get to eat your cooking, but don't do it to often, ok? I do have to keep my figure" he teased.

Her hands quickly shot up to her face trying to keep in a snort of laughter, but failed miserably and a ear splitting smile emerged. "Douglas!" she laughed and pushed him away playfully to which he ruffled her hair and she batted at his hand before walking off toward the living room, blanket following her like a cape, dragging on the ground.

Douglas joined her after opening the other blinds in his bedroom. He stood a little awkwardly in the hallway looking at her looking over their work from last night on the tree. "Suppose we should go and get your car unburied hu?," he asked a little hesitant but didn't want to trap her here.
