Arthit's POV

“Call me mom, Kong, no need for formalities.”

I almost choked on my food and all the eyes turned to me, I tried to not look at Kongpob who certainly flashing me a mischievous smile before he turned to mom and started to call her mom, and mom smiling ever so beautifully.

Okay, hands down, I have never seen my mom being this warm to anyone.

Was it okay that I was jealous of Kongpob?

He was sitting there like some kind of prince while my mom was stuffing him with one delicacy to another while here I was, fidgeting with my spoon.

I hate him.

I closed my eyes for a moment while getting up to wash my plate by the kitchen when I heard my dad's voice.

“Son.”

I turned to my dad, who seemed to have spoken up the first time by now.

“Yes?” I was nervous.

“I wanted to talk to you.” He said and gradually I walked out to the balcony with him.

I could feel my hands turning cold, I was scared and nervous as to what he would speak, what else I had to endure now?

“I had never known…. I mean, I probably would’ve never known anyway until you confessed.” He said.

There was awkwardness hanging around us while I tried to look everywhere but him.

“Son, I'm sorry for whatever I might have made you go through… but you need to know, it’s not easy to accept when I have never given a second thought about any such thing…. And I have let myself down.” He uttered.

I could almost feel the strain in his voice.

“Dad, seriously, you don’t have to do this.” I said.

“No, I need you to know this, I can’t say that I have been open minded, but I'm trying to adjust, I'm trying to accept, and I just need some time but I'll do everything to not make you feel uncomfortable.” He said.

I couldn’t believe that I have such adorable parents…. What did I deserve to get them?

How could I lie to them?

“Dad… I have something to tell you.” I realised I couldn’t do this to them, I had to speak now or else these misunderstandings will lead us nowhere.

“Yes?”

Before I could utter even a single word, we were interrupted by Kongpob who waltz around MY house like he bloody owned it!

He smiled weirdly at Dad and dad smiled as weirdly back.

He turned to me,

“I’ve never seen your room.”

I was tongue-tied, staring at him with my jaw hanging.

Did he just?

Like… he really said that right infront of my dad?

He wanted to see my room! My BEDROOM!

“P’, I had heard you once telling about the action figures you kept at your place.” He said, looking totally innocent and I suspected he wasn’t as innocent about his words as he acted.

I was still unable to speak up, I could feel my cheeks turning hot, oh my god, I was actually blushing!

Suddenly Kong turned to dad.

“Would it be fine if I could see around?” He asked.

“You don’t need my permission, you’re a part of the family.” My dad patted his shoulder before he walked out and towards his room, leaving us alone.

“Why would you do that!” I hissed at him under my breath, looking around to make sure no one saw us.

“What did I do?” He shrugged before leaning against the hand rail and gazing at me.

I was very uncomfortable when someone looked at me for more than two seconds and this guy was continually staring at me for about a minute now while I was looking ahead, outside at the view of the small garden my mom was fond of.

“What do you want, nong.” I asked.
“Your room.”

I was startled, “What?”

He looked at me, clueless.

I sighed, realising he probably didn’t realise the other meaning that I had interpreted out his insistence on seeing my room.

“Sure.” I shrugged before walking away as he followed behind.
