Real Life - Sequel To GroupChat

Jonah's POV

I wake up abruptly and check my phone; 1:17 a.m, damn. I lay my head back onto the pillow Echo gave me before she went to bed and close my eyes; nothing.

I sit back up and decide to get a cup of water to try to help me sleep. I walk past Echo's room on the way into the kitchen and hear a small scream. I shrug it off not knowing if I had imagined it or not and continue into the kitchen to get my water.

I place my now empty glass on the counter next to the sink and start heading back into the living room. I walk past her door and once again hear a small scream; I know for sure that's what I heard this time.

I open her door and walk into her room. I sit on on the side of her bed and look at her. I see small tears trickling down her cheeks and marks where I'm assuming old ones have been.

I pick up her sleeping body and pull her into my chest. I gently run my hands through her hair and say her name softly.

I say it a little louder but still nothing. I'm about to say it for a third time but she gasps awake looking at me with tear filled eyes and a confused expression.

I'm about to ask her if she's okay but flings her arms around my neck and repeatedly say that I'm okay.

Echo's POV

I wake up with a gasp before looking at Jonah confused. Why is he holding me? Why am I crying? Suddenly memories from the dream flood my mind and I wrap my arms around his neck immediately. I whisper repeatedly "you're okay", telling more myself than him.

He wraps his right arm around my waist, his left continuing to play with my hair; to say this moment was perfect would be an understatement.

"What happened, why are you crying?" He whispers softly to me.

"It was a bad dream. Why are you up?"

"I woke up and decided to get a glass of water and heard you screaming, so I came in to check on you." Awe, he's such a great friend.

I nod slowly. "Thank you, Jonah."

"You know I would do anything for you." And that's what scares me.

So it was a dream, if you hadn't already guessed. And can we just talk about this part real quick likee uhhhh so cute, I find these two so cute ngl.
