Tweek texted me on Sunday if he could come over. I told him that we had visitors but that of course, was a lie. I did nothing about the hickeys on my neck and other parts of my body. I barely managed to hide them from my parents.
I was able to because I hurriedly put on a scarf when I got home, pretending I wore it the whole day.
I still don't regret doing it with Stan. It was an escape and I felt desired and confident for once. I guess I'll have to wait till I meet Tweek to regret this.
Monday came sooner than I wanted. It was 6:20 and I was afraid of going to school. Everyone will see it. Everyone will see Stan... they'll put the clues together and shit will go down.
I can't just intimidate or threaten all of the class.
I got out of bed. I started limping towards the bathroom to have a brisk shower to wake up myself. After I finished, I glanced into the mirror. The patches have gotten darker.
My neck, my collarbone, my chest. Everything was so red. It's not like I was surprised, I knew how hickeys worked.
I started digging through the cabinet to find light foundation and I shoved it into my hoodie's pocket.
My phone buzzed and I went to check it. It was an SMS from... Stan.
Marsh: do you have something?
Me: yeah. do you need foundation?
Marsh: yup, lots.
Me: meet me b4 first period
He didn't reply but I knew he saw it. I left a bit early for school. It was 7:10 when I got there and I saw Stan sitting on the patio alone.
"Hey." I said emotionlessly. He looked up at me, still sitting, so I sat next to him. "How are you doing?"
He sighed shakily. "Not well. You?"
"Hmpf. Same." I supported my elbows on my knees. "We should probably go inside."
"I... don't want to. I don't want to face others. I feel like I cheated him."
I put my hand on his shoulder. "Beating yourself over it won't help. Come on." I said, standing up and walking backwards until he followed me.
We walked inside. Not many people were at the school, mainly smaller kids and nerds.
After reaching a nearby restroom, we hurried to a mirror and pulled our shirts' collars down and revealed our red-crimson spots. I took 'my' foundation out of my pocket and put a whole lot of the dense liquid on my fingers. I started with Stan's neck and collarbone.
He hissed a little bit. I figured his marks hurt as well. Mine kept on aching throughout the weekend and this crappy morning.
I made sure I didn't cause him pain, I was careful and delicate. I smeared a thick layer on and blown on his neck to speed the drying up. I applied two more layers, it made me feel like a Kardashian to be honest.
After I finished, Stan took the bottle out of my hand and did the same process to me. He was a bit faster than me and we were done sooner than I expected.
We walked out of the bathroom and started making our way to the class. The first lesson was English grammar and everyone had it.
Stan didn't walk in at the same time as me, we agreed on keeping a five meter distance at all times. I strolled over to the three guys I considered to be my friends.
"Hi Craig!" Clyde greeted me.
"Hey, guys." I waved. Token and Tweek both said hi and Jimmy thanked me for sending him the Math solutions.
"It's nothing." I smiled a little.
Tweek went to stand next to me. He was pretty close but I didn't mind at all. However, I kinda forgot that the foundation still didn't cover most of my neck.
"Dude, can I talk to you for a minute?" Token asked, his gaze a bit shocked.
"We are talking right now?" I shrugged.
"Alone." He emphasized.
"Okay-okay, chill." I rolled my eyes and left the classroom. I snuck a glance at the class and saw some people looking at me. Stan, Tweek and Cartman.
Great. I hope they were just curious.
"Craig, dude." Token grabbed me. "What did you do?"
"Wh-what do you mean?"
"Your neck. You think that won't be noticed?" Token was still holding my arms.
I bit my lip. "Why do you care?"
"I care because I saw Stan Marsh with hickeys on his neck, too. Why do you think that is?" He narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"He must have fucked Kyle or Kenny."
"Very funny. Then why doesn't Kyle OR Kenny have anything on their necks?" Token asked.
"You can't see Kenny's neck." I retorted.
"But I can see yours."
I sighed and yanked my arms away from his tight grip. His face was sad and concerned.
"I thought you hated him. What happened?" He questioned me silently.
I lowered my head. "It just happened."
"That stuff does not 'just happen'." Token explained but I could tell he was a bit angry.
"Okay, we had some character development before that. I got to know him and stuff." I looked away.
"You still gotta do something more effective about your... neck." He sighed.
"Well, do you have any ideas?" I asked. He didn't say anything.
"Huh. Typical." I stepped away but he grabbed my shoulder.
"How about I'll phone my mom and she'll bring some expensive powder-based one?" He asked.
"Um, I hate to inform you but our skin colors are not exactly the same."
He rolled his eyes. "Just lay low until the end of the period. She'll buy you some, okay?"
"..." I averted my gaze. "Okay. Thanks. And um-"
"I shouldn't tell this to anyone, right?" He asked with a bored tone.
I nodded.
"Okay."
We went back to the classroom. Token distracted everyone and made Clyde talk before the bell rang. I saw Token texting on the lesson and after he slid his phone back into his pencil case, he did an 'OK' sign with his hand. I was relieved.
