"What were you doing with Andrews?" Lucas asked, looking slightly angry.
"You're worried now?" I raised my eyebrows.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I don't know, maybe your comments downstairs made me think otherwise." I rolled my eyes.
"I only said that to shut Thomson up." He said, pulling his fingers roughly through his hair.
"You know, I'm really tired of dealing with you."
"I know. I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Genuine concern was rooted in his eyes as they met mine.
"I don't know." I sighed. "I still have no idea what you want from me."
"I don't underst-"
"Neither do I." I sighed and spun on my heels to leave.
Of course, he reached out, grabbing my hand and turned me so I faced him again.
"Let me make it up to you, please."

When I finally woke up, it was already noon. I sat up; looking out into the yard, I saw Mama in the yard, dancing. Dad sat on the porch drinking coffee, he was smiling sweetly at Mama, who looked overjoyed.
I glanced at my phone, seeing several notifications for texts.
The first was Rose. She apologized for how she had acted the night before, I forgave her, considering she only knew about the situation because Kendall told her this morning. Kendall had also texted me, saying she was sorry for not standing up for me. Then there was an unknown number. The text read, "Hey, it's Cole. I'm really sorry about last night I was just trying to mess with Beckett". I told him it was fine, though I was not planning on talking to him for a while.
Suddenly, I heard a knock at my door.
"Come in." My voice came out hoarse.
Clover walked in, phone in hand. She had a smile across her face, and a blush on her cheeks. Oh my Lord, I completely forgot about her date! She walked in and sat acoss from me, on the end of my bed, crossing her legs.
"Spill. Now." I demanded. She smiled impossibly wider.
"Last night was amazing!" She screamed.
"Where did you go?"
"He took me to the movies and held my hand! Then we walked over to the mall and ate in the food court. He held my hand the whole time there too! And then we just walked around the mall until his sister came to pick us up." I smiled at my sister's innocence. Holding hands was the biggest deal to her- and it was adorable.
"That sounds great, Clo. I'm so happy for you!"
"Wait, what about you?! I heard you leaving at like midnight last night!"
"Oh," I sighed. "I had to go to some party to deal with my stupid friends."
"Who?"
"Rose." I rolled my eyes.
"Was that guy, uh- Lucas! Was Lucas there?" She exclaimed.
"How do you know about him?" I was shocked.
"You know, I can hear when you and Ken talk." She rolled her eyes.
"Well-um, yeah, he was there."
"Did you talk?"
"Yeah. He wants to come over tonight. I told him no." I chuckled dryly, Clover looked annoyed.
"Why did you do that?! You have a hot football player crushing on you- and you reject him?!" Okay, to say she was pissed was an undertstatement.
