"Serene!""Sh!" I hushed with a finger over my lips. "I'm doing that writing thing you suggested."
"Right now? Are you serious? It's really not the time to-"
"Sh!"
Now that my friends are done being stick in the muds, hey there! How's it going? Nice weather we're having today aren't we? Isn't it such a perfect day to be running for your life?
To sum it all up, my friend did something really really stupid. Like I'm talking, possibly might've doomed the world stupid. It's funny too, because usually I'd be the one to put the world in mortal danger. Guess I really am the smartest out of us three.
Now we're all hiding in some weird cave, and monsters are banging on this large boulder, the only thing blocking them from us.
"Serene! We could use your help here!"
Since we're all probably going to die really soon, my friend suggested we write out our stories, just in case anything happened to us. So that people will know the truth, the things that we've been through, how unstable the world really is.
And how love is definitely the most dangerous thing ever invented.
"SERENE!"
More bangs and groans sounded. Ignore that, let's get started shall we?
It all began on my tenth birthday. The big day when you finally reach double digits is supposed to be one of the best days ever. Yeah, it was supposed to be. Instead, it was the complete opposite. It would be a day that would change my life forever.
I was in my bedroom, sitting at my vanity with my mother brushing the knots out of my periwinkle hair, while my friend was hovering over us. It was a simpler time back than, a time when my bedroom was painted in a rainbow of colors. The walls were lilac with hand painted flowers and vines scattered across. The curtains were a bright magenta and the floors were painted in blue waves like the ocean. Toys were everywhere. My windows were actually opened and the doors to my balcony weren't locked.
Everything was just... easier. And I took that easiness for granted. Still do to this day, but I guess I never learn my lessons. That'll be one of the main reasons why I'll probably be long dead before anybody reads this.
Mother was humming along to the chirps of the tune birds outside my window. Their song was short, sweet, and repetitive, kind of like my life at the time. In other words, it was a yawn.
"Ouch!" I yelped.
"Sorry darling," mother apologized. "How did you manage to get your hair in so many knots before noon?"
Priscilla, my friend in her small pairy form, fluttered over to the surface of my vanity.
"That would be partially my fault your majesty. We were playing out in the garden this morning," Priscilla told.
Mom tugged at another knot forcefully and I whined in pain. Whenever she does my hair, she likes to do it by hand without the use of any magic. She says that there will be times when you can't rely on your magic for everything you do, so it's best to learn to rely on yourself before you rely on your wand.
"Hmm, you sure that was all? Seems like too many knots for just some time in the garden," mother suspected with arched brows.
Priscilla swallowed and forced a toothy grin.
