"Phone: check. Charger: check. Keys: check. Money: check. Oh, and some Advil just in case," I spoke to myself as I put what I needed in my bag.
I put my bag on the table and checked the time. Andrew was due to be here any minute to go to Jackson's party. He always shows up ten minutes before we are about to leave. A rhythm of knocks sounded throughout the apartment.
I opened the door to see Andrew. He was a little more dressed up than usual. He was only wearing a button up and nice jeans, but I was still shocked.
"You clean up nice," I smiled at him.
"So do you, but you always look nice." I opened the door wider to let him in. We still had a few minutes before we needed to leave.
Andrew and I hadn't talked about the kiss since Shane's that night. We were still talking a lot. The only difference between us was that we were flirting more. It was a nice difference.
"Whose party is this, again?" Andrew asked. He sat in his usual spot on my couch. I sat next to him.
"Jackson's. I work with him." I blushed when Andrew put his arm around me.
"Who all is going to be there?"
"Jackson, Cadence, some of Jacks' friends, and maybe some people from work."
I leaned into his warmth and smiled. We sat like that for a few minutes, not bothering to speak. I couldn't stop the smile that appeared. I closed my eyes and sighed.
"What are we?" I whispered. I opened my eyes to look at him.
"I don't know, but I really like you." I hugged him tightly and took a deep breath.
     "I really like you, too."

We stepped into Jackson's house hand in hand. The music was at a good volume, and the lights were dimmed a small amount. Jackson's parties were always great.
"Y/N! You made it!" Jacks walked towards us with a drink in hand.
"I wouldn't miss it." I smiled as I hugged him. "This is Andrew."
"Hey, man." The two men shook hands.
"Andrew, how about you join me for a drink with the boys. Y/N, Cadence is in the living room with some other girls. Avery would be so happy to see you," Jackson smiled as he spoke.
"Avery is here?! Have fun, Andrew!" I quickly made my way to the living room. I was out of breath when I reached the room full of women.
     "Y/N!"
     "Avery!"
Avery is Jackson's sister. I've always been close with her. She moved out of state one year ago, and we haven't been able to talk a lot since then. She's been busy with college studies.
"How have you been, girly?" She spoke with excitement.
"I've been great! Life has been good. What about you?"
"It's been amazing. I was just telling everyone some good news. Sit down so I can tell!" I laughed at her enthusiasm and sat down in the middle of the couch. Cadence was on my left and Rose (from work) was on my right. A couple of other people from work were sitting strategically around the room.
"To start with, Roger and I are moving back to town!" Cadence and I cheer at the news. "The reason why we're moving back is because we're expecting."
     "Oh my gosh!"
     "Congratulations."
     "How far along are you?"
     "Does Jackson know?"
She smiled, "Jackson does know. I told him a couple of weeks ago. I'm almost 16 weeks along. We're going to find out the gender during our next appointment. I'm going to be going to a local college to finish my bachelors." A chorus of 'aw's sounded across the room. The moment was interrupted by a group of guys walking into the room.
     "Let's party!" Jackson exclaimed.
I caught eyes with a nervous looking Andrew. I motioned him to come sit in the now vacant seat next to me. Rose had stood up to sit with the others on the other couch.
Andrew sat next to me. I grabbed his hand in my own and traced circles on the back of his with my thumb. He squeezed my hand in response.
"Who is this, Y/N?" Cadence said, her eyebrows raised. My fave began to heat up.
"This is Andrew. We met through Shane and have been close for a good minute now."
     "Are you guys together?"
     "No."
"Not yet." I turned to him and smiled. I kissed his cheek quickly before I could convince myself not to.
"You guys are so cute. We get it. Now let's turn this music up and party! Woo!" Jackson yelled.
And so began the beginning of an amazing night.
