I sat in the living room of Andrew and mine's shared apartment. A warm blanket was across my lap; I had struggled to make it stay on top of my stomach, and had given up on trying to cover it with the fabric. Morgan was in the kitchen looking for a snack for me.
"Doritos?" She called out.
"No. Little bean wants soup. Would you make me some please?" I spoke loudly, rubbing my swollen stomach. A timid kick interrupted my hand'd movements. "You want soup. Don't you, bean?" I let out a chuckle when I was kicked once more.
Andrew was with Shane, working on a small project while I was stuck at home. It was one of those rare days he wasn't with me. He had been staying with me as the third trimester came close to an end. He didn't want me alone, so he got Morgan to stay with me.
"I will do it only because you're carrying my favorite person!" I gasped dramatically.
"What do you want to wa- Shit!" I winced.
"You okay?" Morgan called out. It took a second before I was able to answer.
"I'm okay. Just some pressure. It's probably just Braxton Hicks. I had some the other day. It's not big deal," I muttered.
"Are you sure? I can time them just in case."I waddled into the kitchen to put my bowl into the sink. I had to pause for a second when another wave of pain came over me. Deep breaths calmed my rising worries until I felt my pants become soaked.
"Morgan!" I exclaimed, "My water broke."
"Oh wow. Let's get to the car. Wow. Um. We can call Andrew on the way," Morgan rambled, "Oh gosh. I'm about to be an aunt. You're about to push a baby out of you."
She locked the door behind, and assisted me in walking to my car. I dialed Andrew's number once I managed to buckle the tight seatbelt. The phone rang for a moment. Straight to voicemail.
"Andrew Siwicki, you better answer me. You're the one that put us in this damn situation," I muttered angrily as I hit the call button for the second time.
"Hello?"
"Andrew?"
"Yeah, is everything okay?"
"I'm—" I was cut off by another contraction. "Ow!" I put the phone on speaker as I clutched my stomach.
"Y/N?" I focused on his voice.
"She's having a contraction right now. Her water broke, Andrew," Morgan spoke.
"Holy shit. Are you guys going to the hospital? I'll meet you there. Do you want to stay on the phone with me?" I let out a noise to tell him yes. "Okay. I'm leaving now."
I took a deep breath, "This hurts so much, Andy."
"I know, babe."
"What's happening? Why are we leaving right now?" Shane's voice was muffled.
"She's about to give birth!" Morgan practically yelled as she drove frantically.~~~~~~~
