A New Hero?

"Pete.. I'm sorry,"
"I got stuck here at the site.."
"I'll be home after two hours.."
Ae sounded tired while on the phone with Pete..

"Are you okay?"
Pete asked worriedly as he heard Ae's voice cracking from exhaustion..

"Yes babe, just needed to talk to the supplier.."
"I'll be home before dinner.." Ae assured his lover that he was fine..

They ended the call.
Pete sighed and looked at what he had prepared in the table.. Medium cooked steak just how Ae likes it, shrimp pasta, green salad and wine..
It took him two hours to make everything..
His shoulders fell on a limp..
Guess they can just reheat everything later...

He checked his tablet on the counter, closed the video tutorial he watched earlier responsible for the meal and covered his masterpiece..

Cooking is not really his passion.
Ae is the one who cooks the food they eat everyday or sometimes, they do take outs.. so just for once he wanted to suprise his lover..

Pete then went to the room and changed his clothes.. He wanted to take a breather and walk outside.
He put on his jogging pants and paired it with a gray sweatshirt and white running shoes..

He went outside, put his earphones on and rode the elevator.. After going out of the lobby he went to the jogging path and walked.. It will take three or four aways for Ae to go home depending on the traffic if he needs to extend two hours at the site..

Pete sighed..

"That's the third time you sighed.." spoken by someone beside him

Pete looked and found Chompoo in her jogging attire.. "Hey.." Pete said then gave a thrift smile.

"Are you okay Pete? Where's Ae?" she asked while catching up with Pete's way.

Pete didn't look at her and just answered,
"He is still at work."

Chompoo didn't say another word.
She didn't even looked at him again but just passed Pete like a complete stranger and jogged ahead instead of walking as if she was competing in a marathon.

Pete stopped and sighed..
"Well this is the fourth.." He told himself.

"What is wrong with this woman?!" Pete asked himself..

She remembered her being sweet and simple amidst of her aggressiveness in the past.
He didn't want to judge her but she has changed a lot.

"Is she still interested in Ae?" Pete shook his head and decided to go the other way..

"Well, I admire her for still being as brazen as ever." Pete increased the volume of the music he's playing.

Chompoo looked and watched Pete turned away dialled a number.. "It's showtime.." she said then smiled darkly.

Pete has walked now for almost thirty minutes and he feels tired.., this is the effect of his leg.. but as the doctor advised him.. he needs to exercise once in a while to loosen his muscles especially in his leg area.

He didn't notice that he was out of the vicinity of the condominium building so he decided to turn around and go back.

While he was nearing the entrance way, he saw two men walking towards him but Pete didn't mind.

The two men were actually aiming to get to him for a couple of days now but were always unsuccessful and Pete as innocent as he is, would never have thought that they were after him as they didn't look suspicious at all.

Pete had almost passed the two when he was suddenly grabbed by the bigger one and was dragged farther away from where he was headed..

He tried to struggle but they were stronger.
There were no people around the area as this was an exclusive location and no one one would ever thought that this will become a dangerous place..

They finally stopped and Pete was pushed off the ground.. He finally got a look of the two and tried to memorize their faces..

"What do you want?" Pete said in an angry tone.

They just grinned and the smaller told the bigger one, "This is a good catch, he looks rich.."

Pete eyes widened, "Are these kidnappers?!" in his mind he was screaming.

"Definitely a good catch!" said the bigger man. They smiled wickedly and then grabbed Pete each on the hand..

"Let me go!" Pete tried to fight them but they were stronger than him.. He suddenly saw where they were about to take him as a black van was parked near the Lamp post.

Pete didn't stop and tried to shout to get help but one of them took a handkerchief and placed it on his mouth..

They were almost nearing the van when Pete heard the sound of a motorcycle.. "Ae", wanted to scream but realized Ae was bringing his car today.

He wanted to cry.. "Why do bad things keeps happening?" he asked himself..

The sound of the motorcycle seemed to have faded and that means it just a passerby and no one could see the situation.. "Great", Pete said.. No one would know what will happen to him.. "oh Ae.." then his tears fell down..

All of a sudden one of his arm was released and the man who was holding him earlier is now in a struggle with another man..

Pete realized that this is the person with the motorcycle as he can see a big bike parked nearby..

He couldn't see much of his face while he was battling the tall man but he was wearing a black univesity styled jacket, tattered pants and sneakers..

The man holding Pete then released him and went to the two who were fighting and joined in..
Two versus one..

Pete was frozen for a moment, removed and threw the handkerchief from his mouth, took out his phone and called the police..

The two then hurried to get away when they heard whom he called and in a rush to get away they brushed over Pete so hard making him fall down to the ground..

Pete immediately took a photo of the vehicle on his phone and earlier when the were brawling he successfully recorded them.

Pete exhaled in relief when the two were gone..

"Are you okay?", then a hand extended in front of him..

Pete looked up and he saw the face of the person who saved him..
