Chances on Love

Unsettling

The four returned to their normal lives after the week long vacation.

Ae still has not opened anything about the incident and Pete still has no idea that Ae heard him, though Pete has been noticing that lately the other is always spacing out..

Pete woke up one morning and Ae is gone, leaving a note on his pillow..

"I went ahead Pete. Got some things to finish. I'll see you later."

Pete sighed while looking at the note in his hand..

"What could be wrong with Ae?!" Pete started to wonder.. "It's been a week since their vacation.. but he is acting distant lately.."

He did try to talk to him one time before sleeping..
but the other said he was just busy as he is focusing on completing the projects at hand.

Pete shrugged his shoulders trying to erase any kinds of uncertainty.

During the day he goes to his therapy session and Ae still comes to fetch him like the usual.

They also do everything like they used to and make out when they feel the urge.

Ae was in the construction site when he received a call from Tin about the kidnapping incident..

It was revealed that there was indeed a mastermind and they found out about Chompoo hiring the two kidnappers but she is nowhere to be found..

Tin also recommended Ae to speak with Pete about something as he was in no position to tell him and they should be the one discussing everything which made Ae remember what happened in their vacation.

After the interrogation made on one of the kidnappers, Tin was informed by his bodyguards that Chompoo was also taking orders from an unknown person.. which made Ae feel unsettled..

His thoughts were in a bind trying to connect the dots.. "How can his mom order Chompoo when she doesn't even know who she is?"

"Or did she happen to meet her before without him knowing?"

Ae sighed and tried to relax.. these doubts are making him uneasy. He knows he's been acting off and Pete has been asking him if there is something wrong but he doesn't have the courage right now to tell him anything.

He is not convinced that his mom made Chompoo do this.

"What motive does Mom has?"
Ae's head is starting to split.

He breathe in and walked outside of the office forgetting to wear his safety helmet..

Above the metal railings, one worker was trying to attach a stone coated metal roofing but lost balance making the beam loosened and fall..

And Ae happened to be below where the beam has fallen.

The workers shouted at him to move and it's good that he was quick enough to dodge as it only grazed his shoulder but due to the impact he has fallen down his head first hitting the marble floor making him loose his consciousness.

He was rushed to the hospital immediately in an ambulance..

Pete has been trying to contact Ae and his calls just reached his voicemail.. "Maybe he is busy right?" Pete said to himself.. "but he said to wait for him and don't leave the hospital without his permission," He sighed..

He decided to go and sit near the entrance, while waiting for Ae when someone called his name..

"Pete! Fancy meeting you here.." said the smiling newcomer.

"Tuk.. how are you?" Pete politely asked.

"Great. What are you doing here?" he asked in curiosity.

"Well, just for a check up.." Pete smiled and reverted back, "And you?"

"Just visiting a friend.. Are you going home?" Tuk asked in curiosity..

"Yes.. I'm just waiting for someone.." Pete smiled..

Tuk looked intently on him..
"Hmmm. May I know who you are waiting for?"

Pete blushed.. "My boyfriend.."

"Oh.. Cool.." Tuk said smiling.

Then there was silence between them..

Pete cleared his throat,
"Errrrmm.. Sorry, Did I make you uncomfortable?"

"Nope.." Tuk said and smiled sweetly..
His eyes vanishing and becoming lines only..

Pete smiled too..
"This guys smile is contagious.." He thought.

Then Tuks one hand went to touch Pete's face..
The other was suprised and gently moved backward..

"Oh... Sorry.." Tuk said.. "Just stay still.." he said..

Pete was frozen on his seat..
unable to move for some reason..

Then Tuk's fingers touch his cheek and picked up something.. "A fallen eyelash.." He smiled..

Pete blushed and looked at Tuk but his attention was caught by someone else behind..

An old woman..
She was looking at them and her eyes were fierce and full of anger..

Pete immediately stood up..

"Is that.. Ae's mom?" he asked himself..

The old woman passed them by and immediately went inside the hospital..

Pete who was suprised quickly composed himself..

"Tuk.. I'm really sorry.. I have to go.." Pete suddenly felt a gush of nervousness hitting his nerves..

Tuk was left there with unexplainable emotions in his eyes while looking the back of the running person..

Pete rushed inside..
"Who is in the hospital?"
"Is... it Ae?...."
"He hasn't responded to my text nor answering my call.... No No..."
"It's not him right?!..."
"Maybe his mom is just visiting someone..."

There were many questions running inside his head.. He saw the old woman go to the nurse's station then quickly rode the elevator..

Pete couldn't catch up with her as he just had therapy and he can't run fast even if he likes to, so he went to the nurses station and politely asked them on what was the old lady looking for but was only shocked to know that it was indeed Ae who was confined in the hospital..

Pete was stunned and unable to move..
He stood there, numb all over..
He feels like he was sent back in time..
Back when Ae was rushed to the hospital..
His legs shook and he paled..
He took a hold of the edge of the counter on the nurse's station and felt his eye sight dimmed..

He vaguely heard the nurse asking..
"Sir.. Are you okay?"..

Pete felt his head in limbo..
And slowly his body swayed ready to break down..
He felt two strong arms catching him as he fall..
