Snow Reason

158 12 1

Sheets of white as far as the eye can see
Footprints branching off in all directions
The path of zig zags form a beating heart
Could walk in circles, still leaving marks

What is success? The unyielding pace?
Walked across, vanished without a trace
Played it straight, died inside, made the way?
Unspoken devotion in your worn out soles

Look at all those souls that lack direction
They talk the talk but cannot walk the walk
Levitate, the steps taken can't be retraced
And as the snow falls, others will lead the way

I aimlessly walk across the blank canvas
Shamelessly painting acres, staining nature
Yet saving paper by not making newsweek
Every year subdues me, left with a new sheet
