Chapter 2

" Ok class you will be working on a project together with partners . I will assign then of course . Please no complaining . Ok... Madison and Charlie , Brittany and Jace ..." Thank god ! He kept going until only me and the new kid were left . What's his name ? Guess I'll find out again . " And that leaves us with Adelaine and Matthew . " I swear I think I just saw him smile . God he has a beautiful smile . Addy ! Snap out of it ! You don't even know him .

" Hi . I'm Adelaine . " I said as I turned to face Matthew .

" Matthew . You can call me Matt , " He said with a smile .

" Ok . So Matt what do you want to do for the project ? " I asked .

" Um... I don't really know . You can stop by my house after school and we can think about it ? " He asked nervously . Damn he has gorgeous eyes .

" Sure . I have a car we can drive there . "

" Ok . "

We kept getting to know eachother through the rest of the class . So far I know , his favorite color is blue , he's from Virginia , his parents divorced last month and he's living with his dad that's why he came here to California , and he has an older sister Kristen and a brother named Dylan . He's really nice and seems really happy . He looks like he doesn't hide anything . But everyone does . Everyone has a secret . And I will be the one to find out Matthew Lee Espinosas secret .

* After School *

Finally the school day ended . I waited for Matt at the front of the school when I heard a pair of oddly familiar footsteps approach me . I look up and Jace is walking over to me with an angry look on hid face . I turn and begin to run back into the school but he catches up to me once were inside . He grabs ahild of my wrist and slams me against the lockers . I try to squirm out of his reach but he press his body against mine making me loose breathe .

" Why have you been avoiding me babe ? " He says with an evil and discusting smirk .

" Reasons . "

" Well don't try to play that stunt again sweetheart . Or this could end badly . " He grabbed my waist and pushed me harder into the locker door . He smirked and pushed a piece of hair behind my ear . He began to lean in closer when I lifted my knee and kneed him right in the balls . He loosened his grip on my waist but didn't let go .

" LET GO OF HER ! " I hear someone yell . I turn my head and see Matt there with a red face and anger in his perfect light brown eyes .

" And what if I don't ? " Jace challeged .

Matt jumped on Jace and tackled him to the floor . Once he was on top he began to punch him in the face and stomach .

" MATT STOP YOU'RE GONNA KILL HIM ! "

" Good . " He said as I reached down and tried to pry him off Jace . I got him off Jace and Jace lay there limp with 2 black eyes , a busted lip , and blood coming out of his nose . There was now a croud around the three of us and everyone looked Matt shocked and wide mouthed . They began to cheer at Matt and giving him high fives and Matt just smiled . We walked off out the doors and I heard someone say " You're going to regret this Espinosa . " It didn't sound like Jace so I shrugged it off .
